What Makes You Want to Visit a Place?

For me, it would be cultures and how much I could shop there (very typical of me!). The main reason which decide if I would visit that place would be if the air ticket and hotels are expensive, if they are too expensive, then I tend to give up. But if it's reasonable, then I would start to give it a thought and do my research. What about you?

Affordable shopping is certainly a plus, but my first test is the weather. It has to be hot! Thunderstorms are nice, too. We came back from our summer place early this year just to catch the "monsoons" and lucky us, we saw lightning our first night back, and the next night too. It was glorious. Good inexpensive food is a big ticket item too...mmmmm, hungry just thinking about it. In fact one of the reasons we chose this home is the manner wonderful and affordable restaurants. We eat at home most of the time, but it is just so cool knowing there is a choice.

well, sometimes I go to a place because the airline i like is having a special discount to that destination haha. with crazy fuel prices these days, air travel is a real pain for the pocket. so i travel only when there is a good deal. other things that make me want to travel is if that place has cheap shopping! haha. so funny cos we pay so much for air ticket and hotel that the savings from buying cheap stuff is eroded away. however, if you take it as paying for a break from work and as a getaway then it seems more worth it. i would also travel if i have friends in a place. there is always something special about seeing old friends and living with them to really get to know a place.

I would visit it for the culture and any other reason that makes it a popular destination if it is. Once I've made up my mind to visit the place I'd figure out a way of getting the best price in terms of the travel and accomodation. There have been times when I've paid through my nose to go and visit a place, moreso because I felt I had to go there.

I have sights on my travel wish list that I would love to see like the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall, the Rocky Mountains and Machu Picchu. I adore seeing wildlife and know that a cruise around the Galapagos Islands would be amazing but very expensive. I think about airfares, accommodation costs and local transport before I decide to travel somewhere. I adore tropical islands and I like to have a great adventure more than some relaxation. I enjoy meeting the local people and experiencing a different culture. I like to go to a few special places with interesting sites and mix these with places off the tourist trail. It is great architecture and scenic settings that the cities that I so wish to go to Cape Town and Vancouver.

If there are interesting sights to be seen, I want to visit! I love looking at architecture that has history. I am also fascinated with learning about other cultures. So, sometimes, just wanting to see the culture in action is enough for me to want to visit a place. Of course, shopping is always important because that's how we remember our travels--by the unique souvenirs we purchase and bring home.

I am very interested in different cultures. There are a number of places that I would likve to visit, because of the interesting cultures in various places. My husband and I would really like to visit Croatia, as we are both extremely interested in Croatian culture, We have friends here in town who are Serbian and Croatian, and tell us how beautiful the place is.
