Just curious to know how many mylot members will give yourself a break after quitting or retrenched from your day-job? Or will you continue to find another job immediately?

I was laid off from my job one and a half months ago. I would like to get a job right away, even though I have had a break for the month and a half, a well deserved rest I must say. I have found it hard to find another job. The ones that I may be interested in are not paying enough. I would rather continue to collect unemployment than to get a job paying less than what I am getting from unemployment. That would be defeating my purpose, with the cost of gas to accept a job paying less money. I have enjoyed my break, have gotten a lot of rest and the stress is gone. I would really like to get employment now, because even the unemployment is paying me 40% less than I was making. That is a $900.00 a month decrease. I need a job!!!!!!!

I know you are crying for a job and me too. At least, you have employment grants while I don't have the privilege. I am curious since you have interest in particular job but low pay, why don't you take the job and progress from there? Bosses likes to hear their employees having the interest, enthusiasm, passion and good working attitude. With regards to the cost of gas, if you know how to cut your financial pie, I don't see there is any problem in paying cost of gas, bills, rental and everything.

I have never had any breaks after quitting any of my jobs. I would quit one job and go straight to another one. I didn't have time for a break because the bills still had to be paid.

If I ever quit my job I would def take a break n go on a long vacation. Then i'd be more focused when I got back n then would start job searching again.

I do like to do so,but since the eagerness of joining or searching for a new job will not allow us to go on a holiday.

I would definately take a break. We all need a break sometimes, time to re-coop! I have left employment before, with another job already lined up, but I have told the new employer that I could not start immediately, I took 2 weeks off. It worked out great, I needed a fresh mind to start a new position.
