After the surgery last week, I have to take a medicine for some time. Usually I will take the medicine when I am full. But now I prefer to take it after I wake up. It seems I don't want to forget it and I have to make sure everyday I finish this task earlier

I always go by what my doctor saida or the label. I had to put eye drops in 4 times a day so I made a chart. That way I could just check when to put in the next drop. But with oral medicine, I would follow the directions on the bottle. If I need to take it with food, then I would take it with my main meal. If it doesn't have to be taken with food, then I would take it first thing in the morning. That way it's done and I don't have to wonder, did I take my medicine?

hi youless, it depends on the kind of medicine you take. there are medicines which are to be taken before meal and after meal. you should take it accordingly. it's better if you can ask your pharmacist regarding this.

I take one pill twice a day for acid reflux problems. The doctor says to take the pills on an empty stomach, so I take one in the morning an hour before i eat my breakfast and drink my coffee, and I take another one at night about an hour after eating, and just before I go to bed. Some pills need to be taken on an empty stomach, others need to be taken with food.

Will try to take the medication as indicated by the doctor. Usually it is after meals. Other wise, it is before food. I will leave it where I get my water. That way, I will be reminded of it each time I go fetch a drink. Sometimes I forget. But I try to finish the whole course of the medicine if required. This being even when I forget to take some doses in between.

Well, it really have to depend on the kind of medicine. Doesn't it? Cos if you are given medicines like antibiotics, it is better to finish the whole course. If it is medicines for diarrhea, or the flu, then I guess it is okay to stop when the illness is cured.

Sometimes I don't want to finish all the medicines. As long as I feel good, I don't want to take any pills

O~~ you take your medicines at your convenient times and not prescribed by your doctors.. I feel that it is not a good practice Youless.. The medicines must be taken in time as the effects of the tablets should act on our body at regular durations.. say, if it is 3 hours.. it must be three hour duration only.. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Enjoy Olympics.

Since I just need to take only one pill everyday, and the doctor didn't tell me when it's the suitable time to take it. So I take it at my convenient time.

Perhaps you can set an alarm to your cellphone to remind you to take the medicine.

I use my personal daily diary to record when I have taken my medication, that way I can easily check that I have taken it, when you have to take it four times a day it is easy to forget and take too little or too much, so I write it down the time too so that I can space the medications out so they are balanced throughout the day, that way I remember to take it. It is all too easy to forget, in our busy lives.

Hi youless! When taking medicines, you should follow the doctor's instructions closely. Be sure that your medicines can be taken on an empty stomach or better drink milk first before taking your meds just to be on the safe side for there are medicines that can be harsh on the stomach. I hope that you will recover completely well soon my friend. Take care always..God Bless!

i have actually always taken my medicine after eating my meals because i thought that doing the opposite or eating with an empty stomach could only make you even sicker. however, in certain times of emergency, or sometimes even when i get headaches, i merely take medicine when i can't take the ache anymore.
