I have been a member of AC for quite some time now. But I did not really focus on this site in terms article submission as I have pit most of my time on Helium. I would like to check with the fellow mylotters here when does AC do page views and earning updating in a particular month? I understand from my own articles that it is updated one short and not from time to time. Is there any fellow mylotters able to shed light this? Second, I would like to know articles of what topics or nature would generate good incomes. Based on the experience that you have would very much helps as a informative guide to myself as well as mylotters out there who are also members of AC. Cheers.

From what I've seen, it just updates as often as it can. I think maybe once or twice a week if we are lucky. I've written material on there but sometimes it's a matter of hit and miss. Still doing the trial and error but I'm guessing How To guides or something that could generate interest on a particular subject. It's a matter of guessing and then keep on writing. That's about the best I could suggest.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your response. Yes, I do personally look around the sites and found articles which are dealing with how-to and tips on certain operation of something tends to do quite well. I will take special note of that. I am now concentrating on AC. Thank you again. Cheers.

No problem. I'm glad I could be of some help. If I could help someone out just a little, then it's worth it to be honest. It probably takes time though. It'd be nice if it updated 24 or even 48 hours on a consistent basis but what can you do.

"Second, I would like to know articles of what topics or nature would generate good incomes." Browse the content of producers with lots of page views and see what the majority of what they write about tends to be. I mean to give you a full walk through of a person's methods and such and how they make good earnings could end up being detrimental to their own success...if a bunch of people start doing what you're doing then the market is then flooded with said stuff and may kill the page views or water down the content as a whole. Why would someone want to share? heh AC updates several times in a month, perhaps it is actually weekly, I don;t pay much attention, and then they pay once a month. Helium is too much work and a waste of time considering how easy it is to earn money with AC and none of the BS hoops to jump through ala rating and crap with Helium.

To ArsonCuff, Hi, thank you for your insightful response. I agree with you about focusing on popular topics will be detrimental in terms of page views as the competition get saturated. I still do not have the impression that AC is easier in terms of money making as I have not done the 'call for contents' yet. I have only got 4 articles which may be the caused of the lack of diversification in a sense. So AC updates on a weekly basis. I will note that. I guess, I will just write whatever I like to write about. It is less strenuous that way. Thank you again. Cheers.

Hi DHembree3, Thank you for your comment. I find it amazing that articles that deal with disasters and so on are selling well. After some thoughts, I think it does make sense after all as many people tends to look for news and what is going on around the world and this is especially the case for natural disasters. The more major it is, the more likely it will bring massive page views. Cheers and thank you again for sharing with us.

I submitted my first article to AC on the New Orleans French Quarter Festival early last month. I asked for upfront payment and received an offer for $4. I have since added a few slide shows to increase my page views and they have gone up significantly since doing so. I plan to put up some audio interviews at AC soon and some other articles and maybe even some video. I have learned from other writers that longer articles automatically increase your page views since they extend over more than one page so instead of doing the minimum 400 words add a few more paragraphs and go for say 600. I am not tracking my earnings on AC because I have been focusing on helium when I've had the time for online articles so I could get my rating star and start earning for my efforts.

Yes I do prefer Helium because the things that I am incline to write are more well received in Helium as compared to AC. AC mostly prefer articles on life and travel stuffs. I have about 120 articles in Helium. I am not sure sure but I started off in mid 2008. My problem is, I could not get writing stars because most of my articles are not very high ranked. Only after the star system, I have been writing higher ranked articles to make it up for those lowly ranked ones. I have managed to move from 30 percent to current 60 percent. Its another 15 percent more. But I am quite exhausted and things are starting to slow now. Cheers and thanks for your participation in this topic.

Have you considered leapfrogging the artcles that are ranked lower? Or maybe asking for a mentor from helium to give you feedback on how to improve the lower ranked ones?
