I have witnessed others doing this, and to be honest, it seems quite fake with some of them. Others, it does not. Just wondering if you think modern versions of speaking in tongues is legit or are they faking?

There are 2 parts to these answers... If you try to speak in tongues forcefully, you are doing it by man's effort. However you could pray to our Lord Jesus and request for the ability to speak in tongues, our Holy spirit will lead us to prayer in tongues... We got to have a strong feel within us and of emotions in the middle of some events when we could not speak of words in our prayer to describe but only in tongues, we could express ourselves and feel refreshing after speaking in tongues. We are not able to comprehend what we have spoken and it could be a total foreign language that even the devil could not figure what we are speaking forth. There are not modern or ancient ways, just spirit led... Amen *PS: After speaking in tongues, we should feel refreshing and closely touched by our Lord Jesus Christ... That will be speaking in tongues and Glory to God, Amen...

I speak in tounges. It is one of the most wonderful gifts God gave me. But it's true that one can fake it. But God knows if one is faking or not. Speaking in tounges is speaking your heavenly language. If you'll observe one is different from the other. Speaking in tounge also is a gift that must be used and must be practiced. It's tru, it must be practiced. But practicing it must not be in a form of force. Practicing it is using it regularly like in prayers. As for me, I observed myself. I often see myself speaking in tounges when I'm into prayer and fasting.

Speaking in tonque is not always an expression of 'uncontrollable movement' of tongue. It is some act that can be controlled by our will power, and therefore Paul says that we are not to speak in certain situation. Paul would not say like that if speaking in tonque cannot be controlled. So I don't think speaking in tonque is all a fake. Blessings!

I believe some people's faith is so great that they actually do receive the grace of God & are legit in their belief & ability to speak in tongues. I also believe there are MANY others who are so bound & determined to have humans believe in their faith & are HUGE phonies. They have NO clue that God knows what's in their heart & it doesn't matter what man thinks. I have never spoken in tongues & don't know anyone personally who does.

As written in a Bible, speaking in tongue is one of the Holy Spirit gift. Some people are blessed with that kind of gift, but not all. What happen now is so many people fake it because they think being able to speak in tongue means they have reach higher degree of relationship with GOD, but that's absolutely wrong. Other Holy Spirit gifts also have the same quality degree as speaking in tongue. However, I believe some people are really blessed with the gift.

My friend, Speaking in various tongues is very real as it is written and recorded in the book of Acts. But the way that christians do it today, I am not too sure that their faith is valid, for remember the devil can immatate/Pervery some of the things God does and creates. And there are those who speak in tongues, but are not in praises or of the Holy Spirit but of demonic origins. Why do I say it? because some of those tongues they speak are conjured of mans own mind rather than a leading of the Holy Spirit of God. It's very important to allow God to Lead in the dance of life, rather than to step on His toes in rebellion.

I don't believe in the speaking of tongues as some church do speaking in a way that can't be understood. I believe that when God gave the disciples the gift of tongues it was being able to speak and understand the variety of languages spoken around the areas that they were going to be preaching and teaching in. I don't understand why he would have people speak in such a way that no one around you would understand.

I think it's fake myself. I've never been anyplace and seen it done in person but I am sure it would totally freak me out if I ever did.

I definitely believe that speaking in tongues is very real. It is a gift that some people have and others don't when you are baptized with the Holy Spirit. Some people believe it is fake simply out of ignorance (not in a bad way, I just mean that they don't know what it is about or what is taking place). People easily reject what doesn't make sense to them, which is understandable, but not necessarily right. Don't get me wrong a lot of people nowadays try to fake it in order to seem that they have reached a higher level in God. I do believe that there is a true gift in speaking in tongues.

I've wondered about tongue speaking myself. I do believe some are legitimate, but I've heard others that seemed to be putting on a show. If I read scripture correctly, I think you're not suppose to speak in tongues unless there is someone there who can interpret what's being said. While I do believe there are people who truly speak in tongues, I'm convinced that it's not something you can teach as I've heard some try to do. I'm not sure how it happens. Does everyone who has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit have the ability or is it a gift from God for just some?
