Have you ever gone to feed your dog only to realize you are out of dog food?

I suppose it happens sometimes, but not very often. I can usually pick up dog food on the way home if the container is getting empty when I give her food in the morning.

Mmmm ... your dog eats carrot? What a good dog! I try telling my dog that veggies are good for health, but she is obsessed with meat and bones, especially bones! No, I have never run out of food for my dog. I don't use dog food for her, except some biscuits. I use home cooked food - brown rice, meat broth, pieces of boiled meat, bones, some veggies, and biscuits. She loves it. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

I have on several different occasions run out of dog food and also cat food for my cats. A carrot?You can get your dog ot eat a carrot? My dog won't eat a carrot unless it is cooked and in something. When I run out of cat food the cats get tuna..when I run out of dog food the dog gets to have what I can clean out of my fridge at the time even bologna,leftovers that been leftover 2 days or more. But lucky for me they are a store not fair from where I live so we can get food for them.

Yes I have. I ended up cooking some rice and adding a little chicken and some vegetables. The dogs loved it.

I have run out of dog food once before when I was taking care of my brothers dog. I knew he was almost out, but I forgot to pick some up and I was not going all the way to the store to get some. Buddy ended up eating a few fried eggs and a piece of toast for dinner that night. Eggs are good for a dogs coat anyway. It makes them shiny. He got them once in awhile already, but that night he got 2 and toast to boot.

It hasn't happened poften. But it happens to evryone once on a while? I just wait a little, get the food and feed them and they eat great! I think it has only happen like, twice? but it's there in half hour or so. But my dogs like crrots too! LOL! (I never leave them wihtout if it happens more than the time it take to drive to the store and back, so it was never an issue.)
