Wow that is good, I just started with Helium and am hoping to get a little extra money from writing. How much per article? What were your subjects about?

I have used helium for a while now, and I haven't made 100 dollars yet, the most i made in a month was like a couple dollars and I have let it all add up in order to request a payment. It gets annoying. I don't think I write articles that get a lot of readership or that I write any that are worth reading.

Helium definitely pays. I have made over $2000 in the past year with Helium. Payout is $25 and that first payout is sometimes hard to make. Your best bet if you want to make money there is to write for the marketplace, contests, and the reward-athon to make money upfront with your articles in addition to the passive income made from your articles performance on their site. It takes a lot of articles to make payout each month, but once you have it built up you can sit back and watch the earnings come in. I don't write there often, but I make about $100 passively (not including any marketplace, contest, or reward-athon earnings) there each month.

Hey there aiden, I have a question. Will the articles we write in contests and marketplace still be parked under our normal list of articles if we do not win the contest and hence, making it another income potential for residual income..?

I havent used that site enough to know whether they actually pay or not. They have been around a long time though so I think they probably do pay. People would not be writing for them all the time if they weren't getting something out of it. That is my theory anyway.

Hello there. Yes, helium is a good and nice website and a writing site that pays for your efforts in writing. There's such a thing called residual income in mylot and if once you are eligible, you can join in their marketplace and contests featured. I have given this url to another discussion on helium, and I must say that the entry here is very useful and you can learn a lot about helium in a few reads. Here it is: http://michysthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/08/heliumcom-in-depth-review-by-michelle-l.html . I am a 3rd party person to view this and I hope you get as much information from this entry as much as I did. Have a nice day and take care. c;)

The best time to make money on Helium is when they run the Rewardathon promotions - they are running one now that ends on September 22. You can get $1 to $3 per article depending on how many writing stars you have. You must also rate articles to be eligible, and you have to write to topics that are included for the Rewardathon. To make money otherwise, you need to direct traffic to your articles so that they will be viewed more often. You can also make money from the articles written by people that you invite.

delabam - hi. I write now and then for helium. I'm really not the kind of writer that fits that website. Some people can write tons of articles, and some people make money. I've made some money, but it's not a windfall, that's for sure. helium has high writing standards, which is nice. Most of the bad writing gets voted down, so you don't come across too many poorly written articles. When you write an article, you are directed to the rating system. You need to rate minimum six articles for every one you write, They're running a reward-a-thon now, so it's a good time to check out the website.

Well, I think I have done a little in there, but never gotten paid from there. I guess I could be more active if I had time, and see if I will ever get paid in there though as well. But I have heard that people can actually make $$ in there.

I've just recently started to use Helium and I've only made about 13 cents so far but as I understand it, Helium earnings are based mainly on how much traffic your articles get to them. Some things that help get traffic to your articles are: 1) Write tons of articles; the more articles you have out there, the more hits your articles will receive. 2) Make your articles the best they can be. Example: Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and formatting. 3) Be prepared for some constructive criticism. If you can't handle suggestions than don't put your writing out there for others to see on this site. Look at the suggestions as tools to make your writing better and really pop so that you can compete with the other writers and make some money. 4) Use the Market Place side of Helium. Basically the Market Place is just that; a place where publishers list articles that need to be written and give guidelines that must be followed for writing the article such as word count required, how many days they are still taking submissions, what the article should include and so on. If your article is picked by the publisher they will pay you the price that is listed with each article description. I hope this helps. You have to be patient with Helium. It's not something you're going to want to quit your day job to do, but some extra money and some substantial revenue can be made if you keep at it and work on improving your writing. To that end, take advantage of the Community at Helium because they have some really great Writing Collaboratives with some really great writers who will help with fixing stories/articles and so forth. Plus, you might make some cool friends in the process. Good luck with all of your writing ventures.
