They seem to be the most entertaining part of a campaign and no matter who makes them and whether or not it's your candidate, their still just plain funny, give me your top list of favotite gaffes. Mine are as follows: 1. In a tour of Monticello, Al Gore asked about a row of busts, "Who are these people?" curator identified them, This is George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. 2. George w Bush, durring the queen's visit to the white house when speaking of her last visit as ocurring in 1776. 3. Obama introducing Biden after announcing his selection as "the next president of the ubnited states 4. Reagan "trees cause more pollution than automobiles" 5. George H. W. Bush Sr. vomiting into the lap of the Prime Minister of Japan, Kiichi Miyazawa 6. Clinton "It depends upon what the meaning of the word is is"

LOL I like yours, but my all time favorite is--""Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." The current Bush. I also do love this one as well ""Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" again the current Bush. And of course this one is good--"My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes." by Ron Reagan.

Reagon was no doubt the crowned king of gaffes, though, he had such a dry sense of humor and used it so often, sometimes it was hard to tell when he was gaffing.

I had sort of forgot about responsing to this discussion. We were just laughing last night about the video for "Land of Confusion" since there has been issues with Russia my husband and I were talking about the part where they had the puppet of Ron dressed up as superman going off to save the world lol.

My favorite gaffes were both on the part of my wife. First, she said YES when I proposed. Second, she actually went through with it, 36 years ago. Gaffe for her, luckiest thing that ever happened to me.

I'm not absolutely certain if it was said on the campaign trail but I always thought it was hilarious when Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet. Also, George Bush Sr's "Read my lips...No New Taxes" was funny in rerospect.

Oh, thank you so much for making me laugh again. I wish I could think of some to add to the list, but I am seriously at a loss.

Okay, am I allowed to include Palin? In the interview with Katie Couric, when asked to give specific examples, other than McCain's support of "stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago," where McCain "push[ed] for more regulation," Sarah Palin responded at the end with, "I'll try to find you some, and I'll bring 'em to ya'." I'm sorry, but I don't think I have stopped laughing in my head at this statement since I first heard it uttered. Maybe it's not a "gaffe," but it certainly makes me wonder if she has any clue of what McCain has been doing in Washington all these years.
