Hello my fellow myLotters! I was wondering if anyone on here does the Rite Aid Single Check Rebates? I do and I got mine in the mail recently. My question is that when I looked at the check, it looks like a normal rebate check, but in small letters on the front of the check it says "Use your check toward any purchase at a Rite Aid location!". So does this mean that I can ONLY redeem my check at a Rite Aid? Or can I take it to the bank and deposit it? It is going to stink if this is not just an option but the only way to redeem this check! The back of the check has the endorsement line and it is a check with a signature and check number and account number. It is just confusing as they printed that on the front of the check. Has anyone else run into a problem with the checks from Rite Aid being deposited into your bank? Please let me know. I am going to contact Rite Aid and my bank and find out. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!! em]happy[/em]

From what you say yes you have to cash at Rite Aid. Your bank will tell you make sure you talk to someone at the bank in managenent as tellers sometimes just look for your sig. then stamp and put in drawer. have a nice day.

Well, I think it is a real check and I am taking to the bank tomorrow to see if they will cash it. Wish me luck. I want my $6.00 that I sent in for.

nope never did much business in Rite aid and now they have closed all the rite aid stores here. So that would really be a bummer if I got one of their checks and couldnt cash it any where but Rite Aid

I don't know about Rite Aid, but with Walgreen's rebates they put them on a Walgreen's gift card so you can only use your money from the rebates AT Walgreen's. I hope you are able to deposit it into your bank account. I think it is pretty sneaky if you can only use it at the store.

Yes, I think it would be sneaky of Rite Aid too. I don't mind the gift card from Walgreens as I always shop at Walgreens and you get an extra 10% back when you use that option. You can however get the check at Walgreens too, but you won't get that added 10% for selecting the giftcard option.

I have never done the Walgreen's rebates. One of the employees told me that it went on a gift card. Sneaky lady, she did not tell me that you had a choice.

I've never heard of a Single Check Rebate, but I wouldn't put it past Rite Aid to require you to spend it in their stores. I seriously dislike Rite Aid. From the first day they took over Eckerd, they have regularly fouled up my mother's prescriptions. They simply don't look at her records to verify her insurance, so when Ii go to pick them up, I always have to have them re-run them and end up waiting as long as if I brought them in by hand instead of calling them in in advance like I always do. It's ridiculous that they can't do the job right the first time. They've made the news several times in our area for not reading prescriptions properly and nearly killing someone because the doseage is almost 100 times what it should be simply because they ignored the decimal point on the strength. Then, when take to task for that, they repeated it a month later, even though they swore their employees were trained to look for that issue. So, no - it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't a true rebate but a CREDIT for their store. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Yes, I don't shop there unless they have the rebates going on and with a sale or coupons I end up getting the product for free or near to it. Their regular prices are horrible. I really don't like them, but as I said I only go there to get the bargains, that is it. I used their pharmacy twice a year too to get the $30 for a transferred prescription, however I am very careful to check my prescription before I leave.

No, not really as I don't shop at Rite Aid regularly as they have horrible customer service and very high prices. I only shop from them when they have good rebates and sales so I get great bargains. I want my CASH!

I'm pretty sure its a check. Otherwise legally they could not call it a rebate. My dad's a lawyer and he said they would get in DEEP trouble if they did not let you cash it. So Enjoy your money!!

Thanks and thanks for asking your dad. I think they are just trying to confuse consumers into spending the check at their crappy stores.

UPDATE * UPDATE * UPDATE!!! Yep, I got an e-mail response today. It is a check. They replied to my question with the following: "Thank you for your interest in Rite Aid's Single Check Rebates program. Your Rite Aid Single Check Rebates check references being able to cash it any Rite Aid store. However, as always, you can also continue to cash your Single Check Rebates check at your local bank." So, there is the answer, straight from the horse's mouth!

I would say that you have to use it at Rite Aid, you can take it to the bank and deposit it but if this is the case and they don't honor it you got overdraft fee maybe. I would call Rite Aid and ask them. It should of said somewhere in their small print that it is good for purchases at Rite Aid only if that is the case. I agree this is false advertizing if that is the case. But all they will tell you is you need to read all the small print. So many of the things they have anymore is a rip off, but then you always have it to spend at Rite Aid. Although if it say rebate then I expect to get the money back.

I don't know, but it sounds fishy! I would look into it at the bank. And I would contact Rite Aid and ask them too.
