Some people think British accent is more noble while other think American accent is more charming. In the past, there is no doubt that lots of People prefer British accent so far as I am concerned. This is the reason that I find so many old professors speak like British guys. Most impotantly, the influence of BBC is so incredible. However, nowdays, lots of youth tend to like American accent more. Personally, I think they are influence by the American movies and dramas. U know what, usually a famous American moive can shake the world like Forest gump. Also, some American sitcoms are so popular that they are noneaging like friends. Additionally, lots of people all over the world get addicted to some series of shows like heros. Unconsciously, people get used to the accent. I know some American can speak like a British and vice verse! Does this mean u prefer the other accent? Which accent do u prefer?

I am from England and I am told my accent is not totally British. When I came home from Australia I sounded just like an Australian person. I have lost most of that accent now but I still have a bit of it with me I think. I really like an American accent and a Canadian accent as well. Even more so I like the Australian and New Zealand accent. I haven't heard the South African accent much at all. I know that accents in over one country vary, someone that comes from Alabama will sound very different to somebody from Seattle. In my home country people from the posh side of London have the most standard or pure British accent. Those from Birmingham have an interesting accent and people from Liverpool have a charming accent. I think those from Newcastle have a lovely accent. Over in Ireland they have a gorgeous sounding accent.

In the UK we have different accents depending on what part of the country you live in, for example, London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Scotland all have different accents from the same country! I personally like the Scandinavian accents, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, plus the people there are so friendly that they speak with warmth, I would love to have a Swedish friend to chat too!

I think British accents are almost the same since I coundn't differenate them well. On the other hand, I am kind of familar with American accents from different areas. Have a nice day.

I have to admit to being prejudice in regards to accents. I prefer the American accent to the British because my ear is accustomed to it. Thus, I find it easier to understand.

I love a haitian accent. i think it is so pretty. coming from a man or a woman. and hearing a haitian woman laugh can make anyone laugh it kinda sounds like "yeah yeah yeah yeah" it is very funny and i find it strange that they all seem to laugh the same way.
