My son is still experiencing loose bowel movement and lost of appetite. We are giving him oral dehydration fluid but he do not like the taste of it so we mix it with gatorade. He still don't want to take his milk so to trick him, we also mix it with gatorade. He also have frequent fever so we have to continue giving him paracetamol. Now when we check his gum, we saw some parts that are white. there seems to be some teeth that are about to pop out. That maybe the real cause why he still suffers this condition. Can you imagine, his fifth and sixth upper teeth and the fifth and sixth lower teeth coming out, all together? Whooh, pity little Zyruz. (neildc @ red/89/1742)

hi neildc! my daughter, who is 11 months old, is experiencing exactly the same thing as with your son. her 5th tooth has begun to emerge a few days ago. i made sure she took in lots of fluids to make up for the lost fluids during her bowel movements. it's good that you can trick your son into drinking his milk by mixing it with gatorade. i have a really hard time making my daughter drink her milk. she likes to drink lots of water though. i was just too worried about her temperature that ranged from 39.3 to 39.8 degrees celsius for 2 days, so the doctor made her take anti-convulsion medicines just to be sure. the fever is gone, but i'm bringing her back to her pediatrician tomorrow just to make sure.

i would like to welcome you first of all, to mylot and i hope you will enjoy being here just like we all do. i really feel so sorry for the kids like ours that suffers this kind of discomfort while teething. convulsion is really one thing that we are afraid of that's why we decided to bring him to the doctor. it is really good thing that we can trick him with his milk and so with his medications with gatorade. i hope your daughter feels better now. as for my son, he still slowly recovering his appetite and hope it will continue until his teeth fully pop out.

Ohh that is the reason for his loose stool! Those teeth starting to op up will really cause Zyrus to suffer that way. I've been through that trouble with my sone as well when he was just a baby. Oh I would really cry seeing him losing so much weight and I would always run to the doctor along with my hubby because he was our only son and we would not want anything bad to happen to him. I pray Zyrus will get over all the pains soon. I wish those teeth would show up in full and give Zyrus a little rest. Cheers my friend, it will soon be over!

My kids have never to face these problems, coz i gave them dentonic, much ealior. I don't know you can get it there or no? If you don't mind some point to keep in mind --offer your baby a chilled gel ring as a teether. Cold yogurt, chilled apple sauce or cold carrot sticks help relieve the pressure of new teeth. never force your baby to eat or drink anything. your clean finger can be offered your baby to bite on. to avoid infections take care of hygiene & cleanliness. Use boiled water only to drink. Massage with honey could help alleviate the symptoms.

Teething can cause bowel problems, poor little guy! Try mixing the dehydration fluid with a cola like sprite or 7-up and maybe that will help the taste. My kids never liked the taste of it either. Hope he is better soon!

My son only ever got 2 teeth at a time, but my daughter managed to pop 6 teeth in less than a week once. Poor thing. I am sure he is miserable with all those teeth coming in. Yes, it is possible that he is a little sick because of the teeth, but I would not think cutting teeth would make him that bad. I hope he pops those teeth out soon and starts to feel better right away. How old is he?

neildc hi I agree with the others on all things but 'the fever, if i were you I would have my doctor check Zyruz out just to be sure its only teething and nothing else as fevers can be caused by other things. better to be safe than sorry. Four teeth at one time that would hurt for any little fellow. good luck hope he gets to feeling better God bless.

we are pretty much sure that there is no other thing that caused his fever. remember that zyruz had been confined for two days and there were some diagnostics done with his blood (CBC), and lungs (x-ray) and doctor said that there is nothing wrong.

It could be the cause of your son's condition. My kids specially my eldest had experienced it when they are teething. My eldest even got hospitalized because aside from LBM, he had convulsions. I hope your son will be well soon best. Gatorade or oral rehydration salt will be a great help for him so he will not get dehydrated. If you have to give him milk solution, be sure to lessen the scoop of the milk that you will dilute. Kiss little Zyruz for me ok. HUGZ!

I know what it feels like when your teeth or gums hurt. I'm sure that poor little guy is really hurting right now! I know that when babies are teething, they can develop fever and also diarrhea. His symptoms may be partly due to those teeth coming in! I don't know who to feel worse for, you or Zyruz! I know that your son is going through a very bad time right now and has a lot of pain, but it is sometimes harder on the parents because they can't "make it all better" right away and have to do their best and then just watch, helplessly. I surely hope your son is feeling better VERY soon, for both his sake and yours!

that must be tough but normally happens. in my son's case he didn't experience that much. i guess you just have to be much careful. gatorade alone is good as long as he takes it in great volume. about the milk, try to lessen the formula (dosage) of his usual milk or change it to lacto-free milk brands. when my son doesn't want to drink his milk because of his swelling gums, i sometimes let him drink it when his fast asleep. just make sure the your baby's head is elevated and is on her/his side. so if he/she ever throw up, the fluids won't block his/her airways. relax...your baby will be fine. you'll see. :-)

it is really good thing that he started to take more of his milk. he really do not want the taste of milk, he used to have lactum choco. he is currently taking lactose free enfagrow, and his mom found a way, she gives his milk while asleep. i know he will get fine soon and he is actually regaining his appetite, thank god and thank you.

Yes it´s terrible when that happens, and especially so many teeth at the same time. But everything your baby is going trough is perfectly normal. My kids went through the same. They would get high fevers, diahrrea, loss of appetit, just like yours, and yes,i had to give them some medicine too. You´re doing great, keep on making him as comfortable as possible. There is a good remedy for that itching sensation in their gums...let him chew on a frozen carrot! I live in Mexico and over here theres this thing called Nenedent that i put on my baby´s gums to numb the pain,,,,if not a little cognac works wonders! Just rub it on

OH i pity for the you baby... i know how it pains because i still remember how i cried when each teeth fell down and grown but this is the time the very first teeth is peeping out of his gums.. please lessen the paracetamol for the young child give more fruits and sweetened items ask the assistance of the doctor and ask him about any ice or something like that could be kept on the swollen gums.. my friend is experiencing pain because of the wisdom teeth im just waiting for the pain yet to come as im stil 19 now i dont know when would i suffer for the wisdom teeth pain.. and my said during the teething period babies or any adults would have fever and they will not be normal due to the fear and discomfort as your child is too small he will understand what is going inside him so he is avoiding food but as u said tricks can only work for kids.. take care of your baby...

My daughter has 3 teeth coming out right now and the poor little thing is wetting up all her clothes by chewing on her fingers. I give her teething tablets and orajel to help her but I still see she is having trouble with them. I done packed up her bibs. I do give her things to chew on. She never took a binkie but its something good for her to chew on so I have given that to her. I put it in the freezer sometimes or give her a facerag to chew on. She doesn't complain much but I can tell she is uncomfortable.

Yes, probably thats the cause. My daughter's pediatrician explaination with that was because when the child while on the stage of teething put everything in their mouth whatever they touch and some are not sterilize and has bad bacteria that cause them to have LBM.My daughter was like that too.She was really chubby after birth and i breasfeeded her but during teething stage she really lose weight.Thats the start of her always being sick. Its not easy when you have a child who get sick.We always feel worried and wish that we are the one who got sick and not them.We hate to see them hurting.
