I dont think many people read the FAQ's before joining any site. Like it has been mentioned here in mylot FAQ's not to post any links of other sites but people keep on doing the same thing again and again. I personally think it to be very important to read the FAQ's and the Terms of Service of any site. Do you read the FAQ's and Terms of Service before joining any site????

I always do! I don't want any nasty surprises, like hidden fees or software that I don't want on my computer. I don't think a lot of people do, especially here. Look at all the one line discussions started and the referral links posted! It's a good idea to ready everything no matter what you're doing. Whether it's buying a car, joining a site or signing any kind of contract you should always read every word. You can save yourself a LOT of trouble that way.

I think they do. Most of them are interested how and when do they get paid, that's why they read tos and faq.

I rad the FAQs and info here before I started to post etc. From seeing a lot of the discussions and responses/comments here we can see a lot of members have not read the FAQs etc. It is a shame as well because in time the same mebers complain about point loss, deleted discussions and smaller than expected earnings. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

As a male (And I am sure I speak for many of us!) we don;t read instructions related to ANYTHING if we can help it. Only as an absolute last resort will we turn to instructions or FAQ's or anything remotely similar! I think it is in our nature to think we can work everything out ourselves first. I have read the mylot FAQ's now, yes. But I certainly didn't look at them when I first joined!

I guess I'm guilty of that too. I just join a site and then just read the FAQ once you're there. I just also read FAQs that concerns me. I don't read all of them. You are right it is important to read FAQs before joining any site. i've learned my lessons now. thanks for your post and more power.

Mention not Neriz,we all need eye openers at times. There are many thing that are wrriten on the TOS anf the FAQ's which when not read are of no use. then later on after putting in so much of effort we get dissappointed with the site itself.

Hai, good question, for me when i want to join any community or any program i will not read FAQ's. I will read FAQ's when something come over or problem in that program. So the answer is i read FAQ's after joined.

I guess most people including me avoid the FAQ's section before joining a site and even the terms and conditions. Though some people do go through the FAQ's within a few days of joining a site to clarify doubts, most people read them only after they've been reprimanded for violations. For me its slightly different though. I don't read the ToS of any site no matter how important it is. I totally uderstand the implications of doing so, but its tedious and annoying to read such a long list of clauses. I though read the FAQ section of every site I join as its easier and explanation is short. At the end of the day, its one's personal choice and I've also never heard of read of any problems arising due to people not reading the ToS. Has anyone?

TOS at times has the most important of things. Even though a site accepts international members, there are some countries that they donot accept and all the countries are listed in the TOS. Some sites have it written on the front page of the site and some in the TOS.

I think alot of people don't read the FAQ's or the guidelines when they join a new site then some do read the guidelines and they break the rules anyways some people are on mylot just to try to get others to join their other sites and don't really care about mylot.

Yes that is exactly what i too think at times. Somepeople dont care about what they write, what they do here in mylot, all they want to do is spend some time get paid , violate the rules and leave. But i like to read The TOS and the FAQ of each site that i want to join.

hmmm ..... 50% of people do it ... i am from those who don't read the FAQ's ... its not important to read them .. you can join the site for free ..

The reason i think it is important is cause there are many countried that accept a certain kind of payment method, a certain kind of decorum on their site. now if we dont read them we will not knmow about them and the comes Violation of the rules. to avoid any such dissappointments i like to read the TOS and The FAQ's.

TOS is also important as you can get the details if the site accepts memebers form a certain country.

I din't at first! But here in mylot I was aware of the words the we shouldn't write or say in our post. I agree with you that we should read it first before joining the site.

Atleast we should read it for our benifit to avoid being dissappointed. And perhaps all these are written to answer our questions that we think we will find out in the future course of time with the site.

It is always better to read them than be sorry fro wasting your time on a site and getting nothing out of it.

Well, honestly, now I do. I've always been the type of person to just try to figure things out on my own And I never read the faqs. Up until about one month ago. What made me start reading all the faq and rules was that I was on a site and I recieved a warning for doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing. It was nothing real serious but I suppose it could've been and I don't want to get banned from any sites! Now, I read all of them.I don't enjoy it though, as it's very time consuming!

I believe it is very important to read the FAQ before joining any sites so that we will know their do's and dont's.I personally don't do that,i have the attitude of just signing up right away and never read everything. Its nice to know their rules so that we will be aware of and avoid making any violation.

Yes, I do read the FAQ and guidelines and contrary to what you believe MyLot doesn't actually prohibit you from posting links to other sites. In fact, the guidelines even tell you when it is a good idea to do so. It is the posting of referral links that is prohibited. I'm tired of telling people that they can post links if they think it is useful to a discussion.

Very right, when you are doing so to help others is alright but trying to promote you site is wrong.

A post that makes me feel a lil ashame of myself... Honestly, NO, i didn't read the FAQ's before i sign in. I only will notice it when I'm looking for answer to my doubt. But i do read Terms of Service sometime. I agree that they are important and we should all have read it. I promise myself that i will spend a lil time to read them before i join other site. (",)

Better late than Sorry Corngrass. We tend to assume a lot of things and when things dont turn up the way we expected we blame it on the site owners. Which is why i think to avoid any dissappointments we should read the TOS and FAQ.

Hardly anyone ever reads the FAQ's before joining a site. Also once they join most never bother to read them. Leave aside the FAQ's they never bother to read the main rules of the site too. And after that they keep violating the rules one after the other till they get warned by the admin or moderator and then go to see the rules Lolzzz... Its a very common thing that happens these days. Nothing new about it as such.

Well i dont know about others but i definately like to read all the possible details before i sign in. People sign onto sites without reading what mode of payment the site does and to their dissappointment they find that their country doesnot support the payment!! What a waste of time.
