Mine Can! Well, my 2,1/2 year old grand daughter! Granted I do start with the box mix but she loves it! I have a little receipe book nearby and I tell her to open it and find the brownie recipe and she'll find a picture similar and I'll ask her to read it and she "makes up" something and tells me. With only 3 ingredients, after 2 times, she has the ingredients by heart and recites them to me! Just amazing! She stirs and pours - and of course, adds what she calles "marshellows" and they always turn out so good! Then I have her make up a plate to give to her daddy when h e comes to get her and she is just so proud of them Teach your child to cook/bake. Not only is it a life long value, but you don't know the fun you are missing now!

Another future chef! Wonderful. I hope I live long enough to dine in her restaurant when she grows up. :-) Yes, learning useful things does wonders for a youngster's self esteem!

Both my GD's love baking, not so much cooking - I think there isn't as much hands on in cooking than baking! I'll give you a VIP invite to their resturant! Better yet a BOGO freee!!!!

I don't have a 2 1/2 year old, but my 19 month old daughter loves to help cook. She carries things out of the pantry for me, dumps stuff in and even helps stir. She is always getting out cookbooks and looking through them for recipes and bringing them to me.

ISn't it so much fun to cook with them!! I just love it. I also like to be surprised when she says something or tells me something that I didn't even think she'd remember or know to say! She has a fantastic vocabulary and it is so amazing to listen to her figure things out!
