Have you tried hypnosis? It can help you make better food choices and stick to a good eating program. Hypnosis has also been helpful in assisting in mind-body healing. Perhaps it could even help you to have more energy :) It is worth a try...it certainly can't hurt.

If you are interested in knowing what hypnosis REALLY is...and does, you might want to research it a bit. It does not manipulate your mind, it is not mind control. You do not surrender your will to the hypnotist. What is DOES do is help you to focus, relax, and help the mind and body work together...they are connected. I am (but probably shouldn't be...) surprised at all the misconceptions about hypnosis. I have been in practice since 1991 and I have never manipulated anyone. It just doesn't work that way. Hypnosis has been accepted by the American Medical Association as a viable treatment method since the 1950's. It isn't magic, it cannot make you do anything you do not want to do, and it is a powerful tool for self improvement. I guess I get disappointed that so many people miss out on the benefits of hypnosis simply because they don't know what it is. Just for the record...almost everyone goes in and out of a "hypnotic" state several times every day, especially while falling asleep. I hope you find the answers you seek and feel better soon. Good luck to you :)

Have you tried eating high fiber foods - oatmeal, fruits, veggies? High fiber food keep you full much longer and keep your energy level up. Sinc eyou are sick, you shouldn't be worrying about loosing weight. Once the mono passes in about a month, start working out then. However, since you are probablynot doing much, you should curb your calorie intake. Focus on eating health foods that give you what you need and not junk.

I would say wait until you are feeling better. Your body needs calories to heal and over exherting yourself isn't going to help the mono any. Rest and try to get better. Once you have gotten over the mono and diverticulitus then you should try 20 minutes of aroebic exercise a day and work your way up to an hour. Also make sure you're taking in a minimum of 1500 calories a day. Any less than that and you will not have enough energy to exercise and increase your water intake.
