Yes. Marriage is a Sacrament and is done in front of God. People should be certain that they want to spend the rest of their lives with the person they are marrying. All these separations and divorces are demeaning the sanctity of marriage. Soon our children wouldn't know the difference between a husband and a boyfriend.

No, but love is. If you marry the love of your life, it is the love not the marriage that lasts.

I think that marriage is eternal because when you get married you get married under God which I think that when we get married God wants us to stay married forever which is the way it should be,it is not right to get married and then get a divorce a while later,if you do not plan to be married forever you should not get married,me and my fiance are planning on getting married in September of next year, and we are going to be married forever,I love her with all my heart and soul, and she loves me to,and I can not wait until the day we get married.

I do believe that marriage should be entered into seriously and it should by all means last a life time. Sometimes things happen with a relationship and people change and move on. A lot of marriages don't make it these days. The divorce rate is climbing. Over 60 percent for first marriages and over 70 percent for second marriages. But I still think it is just up to each marriage and how much the partners want to make it work. Marriage definitely takes two people. I am on my second marriage now. I want it to last for life. It has been 4 years so far.

I believe it CAN be. But very few people regard it that way anymore, which is a sad reflection on society... but not on marriage itself in my opinion.
