do you eat in front of the computer?

i sometimes do. especially when a deadly deadline is fast approaching. so i eat lunch or dinner in front of my pc. and my husband scolds me for it. just the other day, he went "i was starving but i waited for you so that we could eat together and then you chose to eat in front of that thing?" and sulks the rest of the day 
. i do not eat in front of this thing if i can help it, i'm just forced to do it because as much as possible, i don't want clients waiting on their orders to be uploaded to the system.
so how about you? do you do this too sometimes? and for the same reasons?

when i used to work in an office, i am like you, too. me and my coworkers eat at our respective computer tables, and one day, i just got tired of eating in front of the monitor and called some of my close coworkers to eat at the dining table with me. which we did, from then on it was fun

I totally do the same thing, because there aren't just enough hours in the day for a receiving clerk at a hospital such as myself. And what would look better? Me passing out on the job because I refused to eat at my desk in front of a computer? Or me being healthy and happy because I have a full stomach?
Tell your husband that he should understand it from your point of view.
I do that for the EXACT same reason such as yourself.
NOTHING to be ashamed of.

hehe. the worst part is seeing him look at me when i eat in front of this thing. it drives me nuts, i swear but you have made a very valid point there

This is totally a terrible habit for me. I always have the urge to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack at my computer, but I have to keep the food scent away from my computer by spraying with disinfectants. I also keep my keyboard covered with plastic, so no food or drink can sink through the keys.

I don't have any trouble typing keys while they are covered. The plastic cover came with the black computer keyboard, so I decided to leave the cover on for protection.

hmm..a good suggestion for everyone here who eats in front of their computer. but i'm just curious, if it has plastic, don't you have trouble typing with it? i'm sorry if i must sound stupid, but i have not heard or seen anyone put a plastic on their keyboard to protect it from foreign materials beofre you said it here

i eat full meals. hehehe. like the day paul (my husband) scolded me, i was eating rice and fried chicken with ketchup on a platter and soup on a bowl and a glass of water, ALLon top of my pc table.

Well This is an apt question for some like me,who eats all 3 meals in front of the PC.Ever since I started getting movies to watch on DVD'S i am entire day on the PC.I hardly watch TV even.Lol keyboard is always dirty.So many chocolate wrappers lying around the monitor too.

I do sometimes too. I try not to though because i tend to drop food all over the place. and once i had a cup of juice on the desk and i went to reach for something and knocked it over. Luckily it wasn't full because some of it went down into my keyboard. usually the only time i eat in front of the computer is when i'm trying to get stuff done to make some extra money.

Are you married to my husband? Because he is the same way.
You know what, though? He is right. Take that time to be with him, even if it's just ten minutes. Really. Your clients won't be there for you when he gets tired of being second choice and will come and go.
I am married 33 years and been through rough times and the same situation. I have to find out that family is more important than work.

well, to be fair to him, i don't do it unless i really, really have to. it's not everyday that the deadline is pronto, i mean i try not to cram so much so i can have time for him and my child. but that is a very good advice, thank you very much. i am learning so much here about how to stay longer in relationship

i see. so i take from your words that you are not always alone at home anymore? i agree with you that it gets very lonely eating alone. eating is a time when my hubby and i talk about stuff, so i see to it that i never eat in front of my pc unless i absolutely have to.

hi, i do it sometimes. but i get scoldings from my dad when i do that. i even drink my tea when i am in front of the computer. but i do take care that i don't spill anything in the computer. at times when i have work in the computer i don't move from the place until it gets completed, in such cases i eat in front of the computer.

i almost always eat in front of the PC or the TV. and the only reason i have is that im too engrossed with what im doing. one time, i spilled hot cocoa in my keyboard---not much damage though. i only have to replace the keyboard, not the entire system.

whew! that's a relief. i'm glad i have not spilled anything liquid on my keyboard yet. i guess we all really should be more careful when eating in front of our pcs, otherwise, what we strive to accomplish by eating while staying in front of it will go to waste because of damage to the pc due to spilled liquid, crumbs and other foreign materials.

normally i don't but if i wanted to or needed to i would. bet hubby eats in front of the tv. tell him he's too old to be sulking. if you are working he should understand but do they ever????

Nope!! Beacuse we have dinning table to use and eating should be done there for food to digest properly. And we should not do two things at the same time. One at a time!!!
