Ok just got my fourth upfront payment from AC (only have 2 articles showing up 3 are still pending even though I have been paid for all 3) and again it was only $1.24 for the article. Which right now I take anything they give me lol. My question is this.... What are those of you who are getting paid upfront $3.00+ writing about? I can't seem to hit that high an upfront payment the highest I have gotten is $2.20. Give me some hints. Clue me in.

I recently just started writing for AC a few months ago. First question is are you making your articles display, exclusive, or non exclusive? Second if you answer calls for content you will get paid more for the articles they are looking for. Thirdly whatever your topic is make sure you use the same key words as often as possible. They base payments off of how searchable your article will be so not only does it have to be something useful people will want to read but by using key words over and over it makes it more searchable. Make sure you tag your articles right as well. You can also choose to share your articles with different websites if you look at the bottom of your published articles there will be a share link, by doing this it may boost your performance views. I myself have yet to get over 100 views per article but I'm trying so I share my articles on my facebook, myspace, and a few other sites they have posted. Hope this helps. Sometimes it really does just depend on what you are writing about. I can usually get into the $3 range but I just had one only go for $2 because AC didn't think it would be highgly searchable information that others would be interested in.

non exclusive upfront payment is what I usually choose. The only things I ever get in my call for content is politicle polls and stuff which I don't care about at all. I never get anything in the call for content that isn't politically geared.

if you choose to go with exculsive they supposly pay you more money so that may help, but you won't be able to publish your work anywhere else if you go that route; however if you are only writing for them anyways it's really not that big of a deal at least to me. The stuff I'm really protective about I'll only post as non exculsive or display only. Yah I know the calls right now are all towards politics which I could care less about as well. I would just pay attention and check them every few days and you can get luckily. I just answered one last week that was 10 easy thanksgiving ideas to keep the kids busy and a few weeks before that they had a whole bunch of health related stuff on there. I just due internet searches for the information and throw it all into an article and cite my sources.

I can't answer your question, because I am not writing for them, but I have a question of my own for you. Do they acceept Canadian writers? For a long time I was on gather.com and they woudln't pay Canadians, until they got their paypal cash out option If AC will pay me in Canada, maybe I'll join them. I hear they're quite good!

I have no idea. I know that on some places outside the US they only pay for page views but I have no idea what AC's policy is on Canadian writers.

I have not been writing. I am a member, but have not tried it. I want to see the responses here and see what other people are saying. I have lots of sites to write for, but do not get it done enough.

$1.24? That's terrible for an upfront offer. I didn't know that AC even pays that low. I wrote for them for a little while and thought about going back, but if there's a chance that's the kind of offer I'd get, I'll skip it. I hope you start doing better very soon.

I have written about the election, recipes and cooking, trucking related issues, and to be honest I am not sure what all else. Most of my articles have paid at least $3-$4 an article up front. I always try to take a quality photo related to the article and submit it with it as well - that may be part of it. Hope I was able to help you. Oh, I have also wrote a couple about animals/horses.

I am going through and subscribing to anyone who puts their ac link in here, do you want to do that as well. I am working on organizing my life so I can get motivated to write there. I am on Helium and HubPages and Gather, but I need to get busy on some more sites, and I enjoy looking at other content before I get started.

I usually write restaurant reviews for upfront payment. I usually get $4.01 for them.

The pending is on publication, it usually takes them a couple of weeks to get your work up on the site. I have never recieved less than $3 but never more than $4. The things I have been submitting there are my college term papers. I am a social science major, so most of them have been psy or soc related. I've also written about education, environment, and government. You can check out my work here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/196889/stefany_holloway.html
