Hi friends ,Some say that even cleaning the house and doing house work ,we can reduce weight. How far is it true? Some say that by doing house work it only makes us active and it doesn't burn out fat.Doing house work doesn't count as a work out.A brisk walk helps to burn calories but not housework, house work only keeps us active.Share your views please.

household chores makes one active that true but also looses weight and burns fat.as for doing house hold work supposedly say serving food to family members or cooking food...here we perform the activity of moving hands oftenly as well walking short disctances or moving legs oftenly..now if i compare this with say walking than definately working in kitchen walking outside the house for 35 mins both looses weight and burns fat. other work like cleaning utensils again involves standing for a long time as well as moving hands...again if we talk about mobbing or sweeping or cleaning clothes all this involves a lot of strain or movement of the body..so definately any form of moment of the body or parts of body one looses weight on eexample i would like to add here is whenever we see people staying with thier fmailies are healthy and when they start living all alone they loose weight as they have to now do all their work by themself.

Whatever work you do helps reduce your calories, but if you want more calories to be burnt and you want to get down your weight, you must do work out , that too vigorous work out like walking briskly or walking on the treadmill very fast, you must sweat, and sweat is the indication that your calories are burning. Even when you sleep you burn your calories but all these works help us reduce or burn very less amount of calories, hence, we must ensure to work out very hard so as to burn calories.

Doing just about anything burns calories...walking through your house burns some calories too, just not a ton. But doing household chores defeniatly helps you stay active and healthy, that's very true. So if you do a lot of work around the house, good for you! (And your body). I think the people who say it only makes you active and doesn't burn calories are wrong...anytime you are active you are burning calories.

I think it depends on how vigorously you're doing the housework! LOL I know, for myself, that when I'm carting several loads of laundry up and down stairs, or various other household tasks, I can work up quite a sweat. Even breathing burns calories, so I'd have to say doing chores definitely helps burn calories. :-)
