If you were given the chance to turn back time to correct a mistake what would it be and why? As for me, there is one mistake I made that had a great effect in my life. It was one I lost money because of my own stupidity. I will not get into details because it is so far the most embarrassing thing that I ever did in my life! The good thing about it that it changed my view towards a lot of people. I definitely earned my lesson. It will never happen again ever! How bout you guys, please do share your thoughts! :)

I have had time to make several mistakes which have had virtually permanent effects on my later life. '68, '89, '96 come to mind, but like you, I don't wish to give any details. Even the 1968 error still has some residual effects, but naturally the most recent two dates still resound loudly. And also like you, I learned heavy lessons from each one, and there is no way I would repeat any of them. Mind you, at my age it hardly matters anymore. Lash

@bethsmom, I agree. Mistakes are meant for us to learn from them. There are things that happened to us that may be if we have done better during that time, then our life would be better in the present. @grandpa_lash, time heals all wounds indeed! Thank you for the response!

The mistakes I am talking about cost me heavily in terms of love, money, freedom of choice in my future possibilites, and so on. I would change them in a heartbeat - learning of that sort is too expensive. Lash

Oh yes. If I was given the chance to turn back time to correct a mistake then it would be not cutting off all contact with my father after he left home. I severed contact with him for 20 years of my life and I wish I had not done so. Oh I got to tell him I forgave him but I never got to really know him as he was sick by them. I left it too late. I wish I had got to know him. Of all the mistakes in my life that was one. The other mistake I made was believing my mother and I wish I could change that. But then if I did change those things I might not be who I am so I do not know. The price for those lessons were very high. The second one was not a mistake I made consciously though. But I should never have turned my back on my father. I regret to this day not getting to know him before he became sick.

I have made a few mistakes, involving and not involving money. All I can tell you is that most nights I can go to sleep, that the past is over and there is no turning back, so I do not think about erasing mistakes but improving myself so I do not make more mistakes.

Your right we should learn from all our mistakes and it should make us stronger. My experience changed my view with the people around me. Although I just can't help but think about what happened because I know I would have avoided it. Thanks for your input!

If I get a chance to make a change in my past life I would like to change one mistake that is " change the company of particular people during some part of my life". It would automatically change many things in my life. I was not smart to recognise a friend. I used to spend long hours in his company and that changed my thinking style. This was not a change that should have occured in my life. I become a much duller person through his company. His point of view of looking at the life was too wrong and so I also spend long hours thinking like him. I do not want to blame a friend but I just wish that I should not have committed that mistake of spending too long hours with that friend in my childhood, especially in my adolscent age.
