The company i am working in at present is now experiencing lay-off on its employees and crisis. Thus im thinking to resign and look for a better job. Im taking to consideration working in abroad. If i am given that opportunity ill surely grab it and make the best out of myself. In your own suggestion, which do you prefer working abroad or on your own country?

I would prefer to work in my own country as my family and friends are there. However, I am now seeking for out of country opportunities as I would like to open up my learning and to gain more and different experiences. I could afford to do this because I am still single but if I am married with family I would think twice.

Opportunity knocks only once so you must be able to grab opportunities while youre single. Make the most out of yourself. Being single means lot of opportunities to choose from. Its free being single. Believe in your dreams and youll go a long way girl.

Actually you are right. Given that I am single I have not much responsibilities but the only thing that hinders me currently is more of my parents. Just worried who will take care of them. Anyway, we only live once some dreams or ambitions might need some sacrifices. Thanks for your advice!

I prefer to work in my own country because my family is here. I was born here and pretty much knows the system and the ways of people here. I think basically all employees would like that but situations really push them to go somewhere far where there are more opportunities. Sometimes even if it is risky or will mean leaving your loved ones, a person will still choose to go abroad and work there for financial reasons. That is why the government has really a lot to do about this.

Its sad to think that our people tend or oblige to go abroad to earn a living. They are far from their own home. Our government are to be blame on this issue. Its sad to think that our own people excels more on other countries rather that excelling and giving their talents here where they are best needed. Alot of Filipino people have found their success in other nations.

And there are also many who didn't end up successful. Most of the times they are maltreated or even killed. But even then, there are still a lot who take the risks. And when they are trapped there, they just bear the cruelty just to save their faces from some fellow country men who will ridicule them because they have not been successful as if that was a big sin.

Since I have children, I would not consider working abroad at the moment. I would stay here. If I were on my own, depending on which country it was and the job, I absolutely would consider it. But I love to travel.

I would say work abroad but reality-wise, I have no choice at the moment. Money talks and I don't have money to spare for traveling right now.

Agencies could help you because here in our country they offer "Work now pay later" scheme. This means if you have your job in other countries then you can pay them thru deduction on your monthly salary. There is always a way to succeed in life.

I do not worry about my job but I prefer working abroad. I think you could make a choice to work abroad if you are well educated and get some other conditions that required for work abroad.

As long as your job can support your way of living then i dont see any reason for you to choose to work to other countries. You are already blessed with that work and you must appreciate it.

i would prefer to work abroad as i feel i would be more motivated to do well as i am in a foreign country. if i am in my own country, i always have the tendency to job hog and less incentive to give my all for the company as i always feel i have other options. working abroad is different as you are alone and start from scratch. i cannot afford to fail as failure would be costly compared to at home. having less personal distraction would mean that i am able to spend more time at work and motivation to focus on my work. this would likely mean i am able to excel or do better than at home.

you have a point, because exactly as you work away from home the tendency is you will create focus on your work and how to improve your effectivity and efficiency as an employee. It is more likely that you will have focus on achieving your dreams and success but however there will be some part of your heart that youll be missing like your love for your family and friends. Its hard to be all alone. loneliness will still capture you and im proud to say that i already experienced and got into that situation.

Hi ralph, if I’m still single I prefer to work abroad. Many of my friends are working abroad and they get much better pay than that in the present system here in my country. Besides we have the opportunity to sight and to learn the language, customs, culture and lifestyle of people living abroad. During off days I could spend my leisure visiting countries or places around. Both my nephew and niece are working at different foreign countries and they are quite content with their respective job and living there. Anyway I’m now a married woman. I prefer to work in my hometown, so I could always stay together with my loved ones and take good care of them. posting and have a nice day.

Your friends's luck is never the same as other's luck. Good to hear that most of your friends succeed in their respective careers in other nation but you should also consider that there are alot of people who failed on their journeys abroad. Not all people who go abroad gets success. There are some who dont succeed. Luckily most of your friends succeeded.

I am a little patriotic and I wanted to stay here to work but since life has not been good here in the Philippines I thought of working abroad just for a few years to save money and then come back here to settle. Eversince I was young I told myself that I would never leave my home land but due to the economic crisis it's really a major decision for me to work outside of my country. I have not much choice.

I believe in you. Family, Friends and love ones are the main key of happiness in one's life. They are the reason to live in this earth. Keep being close to your family and loved ones cause you cant measure the happiness they brought to your life.

I agree to your opinion about leaving your love one here if you go abroad. I do love my family that much because they are the one who raised me and shaped me. They are the best parents in this world. They are a good provider and showed me love throughout the years since i was born in this earth. This are the reasons why its hard for me to decide about leaving our country, Alot of things and persons to miss. However I have to consider my personal intentions of achieving my success in life.

If i can look for a job in my own country with an income that will suffice the needs of my family then i will choose working in my own country. But if i cant anymore feed my family because there are no avalaible job then i will have to work abroad. Nobody wants to be away from their family or wanted to served other country instead of helping there own nation if they only have a choice. But sometimes in life you have to be practical. A lot of people who have the talent and the ability to help the country improve its economic situation wanted to share there knowledge but they dont have a choice. They also need to survived and feed there families. That is the reason why a lot of talented people work abroad to look for a greener pasture.

It depends on the circumstances. If it supports my family and secures my future...I really can't argue. But then it depends on what the job is. If it's very unsavory or bad for my health, then I'll probably hesitate. Right now, the circumstances are better for me to just create my own job growing food to sell and making things with my hands to sell.

Hi there ralphcharleston! If only the best opportunities are available locally then I would prefer to work in my own country. However, there are a lot of things that we need to consider. It's not just the availability of jobs but also at this time, it is important for us to look for a job that is good paying. This is not only for us but also for our family. Should you be given an opportunity, go ahead and grab it! Good luck!

Out of practicality, I would rather work abroad than working in my homeland. I may be separate with my family but looking in a positive way it will be a big help to me and to them. You get paid very well, per hour and not per day. The money that I earn for a month in my country, I can earn that in abroad just for how many hours or for a day. And that is a huge different

If given a chance to work abroad and to earn good,i go for it,but if i have my stable job here in my country and earning so much i'd rather stay here with my family.I know that working abroad is too hard for we will be leaving our family. There is no place like home.

I prefer to work abroad, because of better work conditions and opportunities. The country in which I live in ,India is improving in all its sectors but still had to go a long way to match the work condition provided in the foriegn countries. Also the chances of growth are much more, facilities are better. But its still quite sometime till I get my first job.Lets see what the conditions are till then.

If u choose working abroad is good but if we get paid equal as abroad then why to go abroad. But many thinks that they will get wat they want to do abroad and so they choose to go.Because in their home country they are nor free to do whatever they wanted..Many people go abroad b'coz they thiks that they will earn more .. But if we get as much as abroad then why to go .......
