What would you do if you witnessed a murder?

Let's make a scenario, you're walking in an alley and you witnessed a murder, you're the only one who saw the crime. Would you just run away and as if you didn't see anything, call a police right away or help the victim?

Hmm...that's a good one. I'm not sure what I would do. Yeah, I can see wanting to check on the victim just to make sure there's nothing you can do. But then again on the other hand, what if whoever commits the murder sees you checking on the person and you become the next victim?

I have never witnessed a murder before. I am not sure what I will do. I think if I calm enough, I will call for ambulance first then I will call the police. I think saving that person life will be the important to do. I hope I will never encountered anything like that.

I hope i would call for help then attempt to assist the victim (which would be useless if it was a murder) I also hope i never have to find out.

Hey there amzthienne I would run away and call the police. If the victim has been murdered then there is very little help you can give them. I wouldn't want to stick around in case the murderer saw me and needs too get rid of the witness too!

That's one thing I haven't experienced before but if ever I think the first thing I will do is run and call someone to help or if the murderer run when he saw me I will first go to the victim and see what I can do.

Since most of us carry cell phones 24/7, I would probably 911 fast, then hang around to see if I could help the victim (unless it was clear he was beyond help) and tell what I saw. Too many of us step aside hoping someone else will make the call because we don't want to get involved. I keep thinking what if I'm the victim? Do I want anyone who might help running away in fear? Though too many have given up the mantle, we ARE our brothers' keepers. If we don't take a chance to help them, we should have no words when others follow our lead.

Hmmm... Interesting question my friend... I guess the first thing that I'd do is call the police since I have a cell phone. If I can get a good shot of the person, then I would. I'd definitely try to help regardless if I'd get in trouble for doing so. I know, in my heart, that if I don't go and help that person, my conscience will forever haunt me.

This is scary on a first glance. It does need a lot of prayers, dedication, strength and bravery when you're in this scenario. I would help the victim and be proactive in asking for help from authorities. I can't barely sleep if I'll just do nothing.

I would try to get away and call the police as I don't know what all weapons the other person has or what else they will do.

If I have the capacity and it would not put my life in danger... I would help the victim first to reach the hospital so he could be treated and his life get saved. Then I'd call the police to investigate. I will not run away and ignore... that would kill me with guilt. I think we should always help anyone who needs our help. I certainly would like to be helped if I need it and would not want to feel miserably alone with no help coming or just being ignored. So I will always do to others what I like others do unto me. I always remember the Golden Rule and put it to best practice in my every day living.

I might be shock and can't talk. When i was a kid i witnessed two kids hit by a car.I was shocked for awhile.I can't move.I was nervous and scared. It got me thinking what if it will happen to me also.So how much more if i will become an eye witness for a murder? Its a very scary thing.

I would call the police quickly. Make as much noise as possible to scare the criminal. Keep an eye on things. As soon as safe give assistance to the victim.

Holy crap that'd be a tough one. I'd have to say i'd make sure the murderer didn't see me, and then after he's long gone i'd probably whoop out my cell phone and call the police. Then try to help the person i guess.

I think first I would hide to where the killer wouldn't see me and call 911! I obviously would WANT to help the victim but if I go back and help and the killer sees me and tries to kill me to how much help would I be!? I would definatly call the cops and stay there until they got there and give them a statment though!

Well I would call the police and let them know what just happen and what I just saw. I would help the victim but then I might get hurt so I would just leave taht to the police, I would not just run away because that is the wrong thing to do and if you didn't say any thing that person could murder again and the next person that person murders could be someone you know so I would do all I can to help the police to get this person off the stree's.
