The best way to get natural foods at a good price is to grow them your self. Even if you dont have a yard or a good spot to grow things you can plant things in pots in your home and get some. I have heard that the Aero Grow is a great kitchen companion for thoes who want home grown healthy vegis at a good cost.

Buy as close to the source as you can. Farmers will sometimes sell organic or naturally raised produce and meat cheaper than you can buy it at the grocery store. Garden! It's amazing how much food can be grown in a backyard or a few pots. You can control the soil they're grown in and keep it healthy. Opt for "natural" sometimes instead of "organic," but know the grower. Often, naturally grown products are for all practical purposes, organic, but they're not certified so can't carry the name. Go looking for coupons. Not every producer has them, but places like Organic Valley and other well known organic producers have them on their web sites. Just go looking for the ones you're interested in. Also, you might be able to try bartering for food or harvest wild foods which have grown in safe areas, depending on your circumstances.

I agree, it is pretty expensive to switch to a healthy diet. We had to cut out many of the extras to be able to add money to our food budget. Gone are many of the snacks that we once bought, along with soda, buying coffee outside the house, etc. We found that we could add another $50 or more to our monthly food budget if we concentrated on saving and cutting back. One way we have been able to save a bit of money on organic food is to locate local farms that grow organically and make a trip to the farm to buy produce. It is cheaper than buying from a grocery store. When money is tight, we concentrate on buying fruits and veggies first and we make sure we have enough bottled water. I have found that places that sell all-natural food tend to be a little less expensive than organic food. Do what you can to maintain a healthy diet. When you can't do everything you want, do what you can. That's what we do and I know my family is better off because eat healthy as often as possible.
