Little things that make you happy :)

Today I'm in a happy mood, regardless of the headache that is haunting me today. I just received pics from my Dad, showing me my new home! Yep, Dad has picked out my new home and I've bought it sight unseen. Its a cute little yellow house, with white trim, surrounded by trees. It has a nice deck on the back, with a view of the big back yard and creek that flows thru it. Trees all around it as well. Its not a fancy house. Its not a large house. But it already feels like home, and I'm excited to be moving soon. So today I'll enjoy the butterflies and hummingbirds flying around the hibiscus bushes, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and I'll pack box after box getting myself one step closer to family and home. What little thing has made you happy today?

There are a lot of little small things that really makes me happy and completes my day like a text from my girlfriend, a quotes from my friends or just a little chat with them. Watching the sunset and having coffee at the beach, watching the waves and spending my time with my family and friends. This are the few things that i guess money cant buy.

Congratulations! I always wished to own my own house in the suburb, with trees around and a lake or pond nearby. Today I'm so happy to have seen my friends again! I moved to the suburb one and a half month ago, and since then life turned to be simple and flat. I live on my own, and there is no entertainment around in the neighborhood. So it's really great to have friends around you, talk about your work and life, and listen to others! I'm so easy to please. Hard to imagine a life like that, right?

I understand. Like you, a simple life makes me happy. Windows open to the breeze, sun shining outside, and my kitties playing in the sun while the dog snoozes on the deck. Enjoy. :)

Oh Wow Tess you new home sounds wonderful. I am really pleased to hear that you are having such a happy day. You are right also it is the little things, for me it is a hug and to be told I'm loved from one of my children, a walk by the sea or the sound of laughter. Don't forget to label all those boxes! LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

Ah, your new home sounds absolutely delightful, Tess - and I'm so glad your Dad has found it for you, and everything's ready to go. You must feel elated to have things on the move and be so excited about starting a wonderful new life, closer to your family. You're right about little things making us happy ... I get an incredible amount of pleasure when the papers are delivered on Sunday morning and my husband and I take them out on the back verandah with our fresh coffee. Especially if it's a lovely day and I can hear the water trickling in the ponds and see birds in the garden. Good luck with the rest of your move - bless!

Hi, TessWhite Congratulations on your new home! It sounds so beautiful! And having a place to call home, no matter how big the house, is definitely something to smile about. I envy your back yard with the creek--in my area, too many housing developments are townhouses with little or no property or cookie-cutter houses with only a small patch of lawn. I always believed that a home should be your refuge, the one place that will give you comfort and security. I certainly sounds as if your new house will be that place for you. Best of luck with your move! Today, my smile came when my sweet daughter--age 6--drew me a card "just because". She is becoming quite the artist! It was a picture of the two of us together, and there were rainbows, butterflies and a bat (don't know where that came from!). She even tried to spell out my first name--she came up with a strange collection of letters but it was a great effort nonetheless. The card currently has a place of honour on our fridge. :-)

Thanks, yes I am excited about the place. Your daughter sounds adorable. Kids are great like that aren't they? Smiles... obviously a difference in our ages. Your daughter is six - same age as my oldest granddaughter. I'm anxious to move so I can see her smiling face again too. Blessings, Tess.

Hello TessWhite, Wow! that's must be beautiful or your Dad will not pick it for you. Congratulations..... Well as for me, I'm just a simple guy. So saying thank you, love you to me by my family and friends make me happy already. Or sorry for that matter. These little words meant a lot to me. How much more if all our kids will finish their studies. That well make me even more happy.

One thing that comes to mind that makes me happy today is reading this discussion about your new home and how excited and happy you seem to be. The home sounds like a great place to live. Oh that deck and those trees....awwwww. Another thing that is making me happy today, the Texas Longhorn college football team is beating Oklahoma University. It has been a great game to watch. Enjoy your bitterflies and hummingbirds today.

Hey tess! That's so nice that you already like your new house! I'm so glad that you are finally going to move back to your family. I know how much you miss them and want to be near them! I'm glad your Dad mailed you the pictures and you got to see the cute little house. It sounds adorable with the deck and backyard! I'm green with envy! So take your time, collect your thoughts and think of how great it will be to be sitting on that new deck and looking out at that new creek!

Thanks Opal. Yes, I already know the creek well. You see my Dad lives three blocks from there, and his yard has the same creek flowing thru it as well. Its a pretty area. Some may think its strange for me to be so excited about a tiny yellow house. Its not a big place, and its not grand. But, since my divorce and becoming disabled, then losing my mom to cancer last year - well, I've been thru alot in less than ten years. So this place feels welcoming to me, somewhere I can go to heal. Anyway, sorry to ramble. Its late and I tend to do that when tired. :)

Hi TessWhite, can feel the happiness from your post. And Congratulation for having your own house. Your description of the scenario with butterflies and hummingbirds flying around really make me feel so great. May because at my areas i can't find such wonderful scenery. I just bought my new house and currently still under construction and estimate to complete by early next year, so that time i might share on my happiness then.
