Is the US Ready for a Black President?

Yes. I believe the majority of Americans are ready for a black president. I think the American love of politics and their desire to see integrity in the office means that they will vote for the best man for the job - regardless of race or gender - and I think that this year the election will prove that.

Well, from the looks of things, I don't think so, but before 1960, the thought that a Catholic President running the country was a big deal and it happened. Don't believe it happened again. But I don't think we should look at the fact of color, but whether he can do what the country really needs to get the job done. Plain and simple.

The subject is not black or white. The integrity and character of the man is more important than race. Have you truly looked at records (especially the past leading to the future), or are you looking at race and color alone?? You need to ask yourself that question.

Black, red, yellow, green... who cares what color he is? (Well, I might wonder about a green man...) People don't pay that much attention to color any more - at least not as much as some would have us believe. Obama's skin color has nothing to do with his abilities (or lack thereof). His politics is what people are paying attention to, so why even think of skin color?

I think the US will accept a Black, a Woman, a Latino or a Martin if the person is right for the job. Americans tend not to vote for extreme candidates.

No the US is not ready for a black president or a woman either. If Obama is elected he will find very few in Washington that will work with him on anything. If the American People are stupid enough to elect Obama the ones that voted for him deserve what ever they get. I couldn't care less about the color of the man skin but I just don't believe he is the man we need for president especially with the problems we face now. Right now the government is doing everything they can to hold a crash off until he is in office. Once he is in you better hold onto your hat because it will get rough.
