Ok as some of you know I got some "new" ceramic molds over the weekend. Well to my delight there were doll house furnishings and miniature molds! I have done tiny ghosts and pumpkins and jack o lanterns for our halloween tree. I have done little dogs and cats complete with there little beds and food and water bowls. I have done black cats and owls for our halloween tree. I have done a chair and stove. dishes for a dollhouse.
I have been working hard today for over 8 hours today......bt it was so much fun!!!
Anybody do slip cast ceramics?
I will post pics of my creations as I get responses. All the greenware will go into the kiln tomorrow then it is time to paint then the final firing in the kiln.

i had typed a big long response and it failed to post aaarrrgggg. so this is going to be done in more than one response. I bought my kln second hand for $100 bought a lot of my molds for around $5.00 to $10.00 each second hand but this latest set were FREE!! I have bought my glazes and underglazes new and second hand and just got a bunch for FREE! I buy my slip by the box for $6.00 a box. Using the small molds it lasts quite awhile.
Here is a pic of some of the pieces I poured today it is all greenware I will fire the kiln tomorrow.

My molds for the dollhouse is the standard dollhouse scale. I have done plates, cups and mugs, frying pans and pots, pitcher, bowl, and other things for dollhouses today.
I also have baby molds that make big babies at 24 inches long. I have not mastered those yet though. I also have smaller baby molds and tiny doll house baby molds.
I also have kewpie doll molds now.
I also do other stuff besides dollhouse miniatures and dolls though. Here is another pic.

Those are absolutely awesome :D very impressive, especially your shopping power :D i mean those are some awesome deals lol... but the stuff is also awesome :) you know, this is just an idea, but you could probably do a blog about doing ceramics and firing basics, and then just blog about what you did that day with the stuff... I mean that is something a lot of people just dream about doing and never do, but would love to read about.... Just a thought :P

Wow!!! I'd sure love to see all that stuff. I'd also love to have a kiln. I've always loved slip casting, but my favourite part of the project is glazing the stuff afgerwords. I love that!!! I miss my ceramics class that I took during my last two years of highschool.

I used to do that, a million years ago. I am looking forward to seeing your tiny creations. I have some ceramics I painted and stained, and some I glazed, mostly flower pots. Houseplants have always been a big love of mine.

Are you planning on selling any of your creation? When I did slip cast ceramics I would buy the green ware and paint them. I sold some pieces to the a shop in Carmel CA. I mostly made things for myself and for gifts.
