How often do you wash your car?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I really don't feel like looking for it. When I get a new car I seem to wash it at least once a month. Then as it gets a year old, it's once every couple/few months. Now my car will be 5 years old in February and I don't think I've washed it at all the last 2 years... It seems like every time I want to wash it the weather is bad and I can't. I don't have any car washes close to me so that would be hard to do also. Do you wash your car all the time even after it's lost it's "newness"? The last car I had, I thought it might fall apart if I washed it! It was about 12 years old when I got rid of it so it looked kinda bad...

I got my car last November and since then I've washed it inside and out a total of one time. I keep it pretty clean so it's not too bad however it is due for a clean now. I think I might get around to it in the next month or so..if I can be bothered. It doesn't help that we have water restrictions here where I am so it's not like I can just get out there with a hose and bucket.

Since my kids are older, it's just me in the car most of the time and the inside stays pretty clean. But, I do have "nose marks" on the window from the dog. That was from some time over the summer. It bothers me all the time while I'm in the car, but when I'm out of it I forget and don't remember to clean the windows :)

I really do need to take better care of my car. I'll try to get it to the carwash this weekend. It's too cold now to do it myself.

My husband "washes" the car all of the time. That is, he uses his dri wash and guard waterless car cleaner. It is amazing stuff and no buckets, sponges, etcetera. I am luck he will do it, and he is lucky to have found this product that we use, and he sells, to clean the car so easily.

It is an environmentally friendly product. They have some home and body care stuff too. His website is dwgint.net/finlander

hmmmm.... that sounds kinda interesting. I've never heard of that? Does it have a lot of chemicals or is it more environmentally safe?

If I were the car I would have screamed and said "I want a bath! I haven't got one in two years!" Lol... just kidding. Before I bought a new car, I used a second hand car which is quite ugly and even if I wash it, it won't look any different. So I seldom wash it. In fact I am the same like you. I am so lazy to wash it myself and too stingy to pay for a car wash. So as far as I remembered I only washed my car several times, not more than 5 times if I could recall. I used the car for 5 years at that means I wash in once a year. Lol! But now I just bought a new car. I send it to the car wash every week so that its shine is always kept and now I am determined to take care of this car. I drive carefully so that I would not scratch it with anything or other cars on the road. I have bought the car for 5 months and until now I keep sending it for car wash once a week. I hope this car can maintain its shine because after this I don't know whether I can afford to buy another new car or not.

usually it's once a month, because we have one guy who comes to the house once a month to wash all of our cars. but sometimes my car gets way dirty before he's scheduled to come so i tend to wash it on my own coz i cant stand it when my car's super dirty.

My car is a mess again and it's going to have to wait until after tax season to get cleaned this time.

My hubby washes our cars at least once a week. He doesn't like a dirty car. If it were up to me it wouldn't get washed only a couple of times. That is during the winter months when road salt gets to it.

Fortunately, we haven't had much snow the last couple years so the salt hasn't been a problem. But this year they're calling for a cold wet winter, and we're about due for a 3-4 ft snow. Maybe if I just leave the dirt on there it will protect the car from the salt???? My husband is so funny about washing the car when we go somewhere. He has to wash his truck when we're driving out of town. It's kinda funny because most of the time it just sits in the driveway - he carpools so he hardly drives the thing!

Hehehe, I am so with you on this one. My car gets so dusty because we live in the desert with a constant dry wind blowing during parts of the day. I decided to wash my car a couple of weeks ago and would you believe it, the rain came for about ten minutes. We had 100 degree weather with no rain in sight but when I washed my little darling out it came.

I should at least do my windows and the rest of the inside tomorrow or Sunday. Then maybe one night after work I can take it through the car wash by my work. Or, I can be really lazy and pay a small fortune to let the detail car wash do it all!!! I hear they do a great job though...

My car gets washed when it is so dusty I cannot see out the window. My car sits in the driveway most of the time since I do not drive anymore. My car gets dusty instead of dirty from bugs or anything else. I bough some certificates from Costco that where a better deal so now I just have my driver take my care to the car wash and get it washed and it is already paid for. It is like getting one car wash for free.
