When I was just a little girl, we had a black lab dog named Lassie. I remember her only very little. I do remember that she got loose and was struck by a car. After that we had a succession of cats. Smokie, Fluffy, Morris, Wink, and Kenny. How about you? What was your first pet? Do you have any stories about that pet?

that is so weird because I had a black lab too that got struck by a car. But his name was shadow. I have had dogs (dawn, floppy, toby, pyper), cats (punkin, precious, max, whiskers and snow), fish (joe and carol), hamsters (bonnie and clyde), and a bird (sam) a spider, dont remember her name. Probably had more but thats all i can think of at the moment. Snow was my favorite pet. she was my sweetie cat. I really loved her and cried when I had to give her to a friend. Because where we live we cant have pets.

My brother had a turtle when we were younger, I think that was the first pet in our household, but he was my brothers not mine. Then I got some Guppies (little fish) from my teacher. They multiplied quite quickly. But my dad used this thing to clean their tank and it ended up killing them all. It was pretty devastating. He didn't mean to, it was just a bad product. My first real pet was a dog named Tippy. She was a Border Collie mix, but she looked mostly like a border collie. She had a big white tip on her tail that is why we named her tippy. She also had a white strip on her head. She was a very loving dog.

They say that Border collies are the most intelligent of all breeds. They have boundless energy too! I bet you played a lot with her! Thanks:)

Hello rocketj1 Our first pet was a black lab too how weird! He was called Lester and I was about 3 years old at the time. He was very strong and very energetic. My family and I were out for a walk one day along a counry path and I had walked on ahead. He came running up behind me, little did I know, and everybody shouted to me to watch out but it was too late and he charged into me. I rode on his back for a few seconds and then fell on the ground like a sack of spuds! When I attended full time school my dad gave him to a farm because there was no one to keep him company during the day and would wreck the house.

My very first pet was a kitten named "patches". She was a black and white cat that got hit by a car. After that we had sevral cats and dogs through the years and we had a pet cemetary that we put our loved pets in when they met their demise. We made them little headstones out of rocks, sticks or whatever we could find and had our little ceremony.

The first pet I ever remember having was a miniature poodle called "Schzee Schzee". We had her when I was a child and living in Hong Kong but when we moved to Australia we eneded up leaving her with some family friends there because it was too complicated to go through all the quarantine processes etc. When we got to Australia we got another poodle but this time it was a standard size so was about 5 times bigger! lol.

I also had a dog named Lassie. She was my first pet I can remember. Although she was named lassie she looked much more like Bengi. Go figure. Now we have a Goldendoodly named Yume (you-may)

Yes. She is a great dog. The poodle Hybrids have really become some of the most sought after pets in recent years. The pups go for about $500-$3000. Crazy!

hi rocketj 1 when I was a little girl my first dog was a big collie mix and I called her Rintintin after a dog that was famous in the movies back in the late 1920's or early thirties. I had her until I was about twelve and someone accidentally shot her whille they were shooting for pheasants across our fence. I was heart broken and didnt have a dog again until my late teens. She was a mutt, and we called her Pat, I guess because she was really my dog, and my first name is Patsie, anyway Pat lived a very long time, and my mom had her put to sleep right after I was married. She had gotten very sick, bad heart and was in a lot of pain. but I had had my pal for many long years.

My Pet Puji - This is the photo of Puji 2. He is as valiant and as watchful of my first Puji. Do you have a watchful dog too?
My first pet was a dog named Puji. My hubby got Puji from her when he was just a doggie. Oh we loved him. He was so watchful. He was a good watchdog. One time I left the door opened as I went to the office. My husband left ahead of me and therefore nobody was home anymore. We were then renting an apartment and we had so many people around us who were strangers to us because we were still new in that place. You know what...our dog did not leave the door of our apartment. He was there all day and till night until my hubby arrived home and he was surprised to see that I was not home yet but the door was open. It was then he realized I left the door opened and the dog faithfully watched over our door to avoid intruders. What a good dog! However, the sad part here is this! One day Puji was missing and later a neighbor told us that a relative took him and we were so disappointed that our own relative stole Puji and was sold to someone else. Hu!hu!hu! So sad! But more interesting story ensued. We acquired another dog and the same sister of my hubby gave the dog to us. In memory of Puji we called the dog with the same name Puji. Then we were able to buy our own house and Puji 2 of course joined us in the new home. Now...one day, I forgot again and left the door of our new house still opened as I went to office. And history repeats itself. Puji 2 did the same thing as Puji 1 did. He did not leave the door till my hubby arrived and neighbor said that he was valiantly guarding our door and was barking at anyone who came closer. You see how good these dogs could really be. So why would I not love our pet dogs even though I hate the smell of their poo pooh!

I think that the moral of the story is : If you want a good watch dog, you must name him Puji! Thanks:)

I remember the first pet we, my brother and I had it was a black and white dog, sort like a bird dog, probably a mixed breed. My mother name him Rex, and we were little children and we didn't say Rex we said Tex. That ended up being the dogs name Tex. I don't know what happen to Tex, all I remember was that Tex ended up being all our dog the whole neighbor hood of children. We all loved Tex.

Hey there... yes i had a very cute small puppy when i was young and i remember my uncle brought him. He was just like a cotton wool and was golden in color, so we started calling him "Goldie". He was a LHASA APSO breed and was very hairy and fluffy. He was my mother's pet, the day he came to our house, since that day he used to sleep with my mother under the blanket and never used to allow me or my sister to sleep next to her. As and by he grew up he looked more cute with his long hairy ears and black dark eyes which were rarely visible because of long hair on his face. The specific breed has at the maximum of 13 years of life, but however he lived for around 14yrs and we loved him a lot...

Remember my first ever pet was a gerbil which my family and I found hiding under a hedge in our garden. We put up posters so the owner would be re acquainted with their pet but noone came forward so I went on to look after it. In the end we called it pepsi or pepe for short. Was a cute little thing especially when me and my sister used to make little mazes out of half open books or little toilet roll tubes for him to run through and hide in. Being that he was found he was always very scared as a pet didn't like to be picked up and got very nervous. But like to think we took good care off him during his life.
