In my neighborhood, I used to see group of people doing gambling and testing their luck, some wins and some loose. There are some who suffer death because of gambling and some had lostn their family because of gambling. I do not gamble and I do'nt believe in luck, if ever I need cash in a least possible time, I'll try my best to have it in good ways and not by gambling. Although some casinos are legal in some countries I consider it as illegal in God's sake. I look at a person as lazy, when they gamble, though I think it's not the best to describe nor to judge those kind of person, still, wanting to have great cash in a least possible time by betting in gambling is an act of laziness. Do you engage in gambling? if yes, can you prove to me that what I think of a person who do gambling are lazy? or if not, what do you think of those gamblers?

No I am not a gambler. I think the reason people gamble in the first place is because they might win a little amount of money or nothing at all and then keep trying and see if they can win anything, but they don't. Some don't care how much they spend and keep playing until they win all the money they have spent. People gamble so they can win a big jackpot and quit work. I think money is worth effort.

In my opinion, I think that the reason that people want to gamble is because of the high value of prizes. Currently, in my country, the lotto jackpot is RM20,000,000 which is roughly USD$5,714,286. Imagine that if you win the jackpot, your life will change completely. Gambling is a game of luck. If we never try, we will never have the chance to win. People are gambling because their mind are driven by imagination and hope.

You are right. We need to prepare ourselves for the prize. We need to have a plan to spend the money wisely.

I have known an individuals who won jackpot in lotto games, some of them end up being confused of what to do about their winnings, some were investing in business but did not succed for they do'nt have the proper knowledge on how to handle them. Others are getting too bossy and starts to humilate his or her fellow humans, while some other lost their life to some who envy their prize. I think if ever a person wants to bet in a higher paying lottery, one must consider to make preparations on how to spend their winnings incase he or she wins.

I don't believe in luck as well so I never gamble! It is risking money in an attempt to multiply the money by luck. Well others do it for fun but I believe it is not a good fun and it is a waste of money. Wasting money could not in any way be justified. If there would be excess money that should rather be saved and be spent sensibly or given to charity or Lord's work and not gambled away. Now for the real professional gamblers, I believe they gamble because of greed! That's too much love for money. Imagine they want to get the money of other people through luck. That is greediness! The love of money is the root of all evil that's what the Bible says and indeed gambling has been the root of so many evils time and again. "Gamblers are brothers to thieves!" That is a well-known saying I will never forget. When gamblers have no more money to gamble...most of them resort to stealing! And you see how those gamblers would sell their possessions and when they have no more things to sell they will sell even their flesh or their families. Tsk!tsk!tsk!

I do gamble, and I have kind of a problem with it. I, however, don't do it for the thrill of winning (though that is a plus). I go into a casino with the knowledge that I will more than likely lose my money, and I usually don't care that I have lost. Where I live, I don't have many friends that live here, and there isn't much to do here. There are a lot of bars and a lot of casinos for the population. I don't care much for drinking (I do go out sometimes), so I go to the casinos. Boredom is my drive for gambling. I have gambled money that I can't afford to lose, just for the sake of relieving my extreme bordom. Also, my mom is addicted to gambling (for the thrill of winning) and I guess it is a way to spend time with my mom, which also relieves the boredom. I know that gambling is bad and that it is really a waste of hard earned money, but I haven't found another way to occupy my time when I'm really bored. Any suggestions?

You felt that bordom is the reason why you and your mother gamble. You are just blinded by those that around you, as you have said bars and casinos are rampant in your area, therefore they're the temptation that blinded you. A lot of things you can do to worn out your bordom, such as listening to radio or watching TV, participate in an outdoor athletic games, do some camping, participate in volunteer works, find a good job if you have one go find another extra, and the most is read books and specialy the Bible. One thing more keep your computer on myLot site most of the time and create more discussions, responses, comments, or blogs, that way you do'nt gamble, cause you will earn money without taking a penny in your pocket. Take Care ...LOL Pls. open your eyes, there's a lot of alternatives to do inorder to get your self out of gambling. Thanks...

I am not a gambler. I think those gamblers take it as a hobby initially. As they have won some money in gambling, they then take it as a way to earn a living subconsciously. But it turns out they have gambled away not only their wealth but also their family members and the worst their life eventually.

Gambling for me can never support a family, unless if you own the gambling den. But most owners of gambling dens has much greater problem when it comes to family, it seems like there were no more peace and love that surrounds their household. Thank you and care.....LOL

me myself, I'm not a gambler. I do not believe in gambling and i think those who engage in it do it because they want all the pleasures that a very rich would have. However i do know family members who do it for fun but deep down i know that when there scratching that ticket or when there pulling that leaver or throwing the dice that they wish for what they want to show up because they want the money.

It's true Chris, only the money is what they intend to have. But what if they losse they might as well bet again, till what? till everything is gone? Why not work harder so that they earn good one, and one thing I have noticed for this gamblers, if they losse, they're irritated and got mad to their selves nor to others and they're family members. Though if they won it's reverse, but will they continue to win. I think no, they might get hooked to it for the rest of their lives...Thanks and take care....

There are so many arguments that make gambling favorable or non-favorable but what is important for me is the fact that God hates it. Proof: Proverbs 1:14-15 [14] Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: [15] My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: Any Christian (in its true sense) would turn away from gambling.

I think sometimes they just want an easy way to make money. I also think gamblers are lazy because instead of getting a real job and going to work every day, they sit on their backsides and wait to be "lucky." Some types of gambling are okay in my opinion as long as you can pay off your debt and control yourself. But when gambling gets out of hand, when you need to sell your house to pay your debt or when your children don't have anything to eat because you've gambled away your salary, then that isn't right anymore.

Discipline gambler or not, still for me, it's not good, for it will only makes people rely on theire luck and not on their capability to do things that can actually lead them to what they aim for. Thanks for your point of view regarding this discussion, Take Care lways....LOL

I never gamble,it is not a good thing,i think the gamblers are lazy, they always want to get more money with less effort, they want to earn money with their luck, but actually luck don't always belong you.The gambler think that they just make a choice and they will be rich, oppositely, they lost again and again,it drive them crazy, they borrow more money as they can do,bet theirs money and their faimly,at last most of gamblers lost, some die some mad, hoping people far away from gambling.

Those are ways that shows gambling is the is one of the root of evil, and by that people will always rely on their so-called luck, not on what has GOD wants him to do. Take Care ...lol

I don't gamble, I have terrible luck... but for some it's nothing more than a game and they can play one hand and leave, for others it's an addiction, when they win it's like a high. As with any addiction they'll trying to attain that high over and over again till they have nothing left.

A lot of it has to do with psychology. Gambling produces a variable reinforcement schedule and in scenario it has been shown that organisms engage in the given activity with the most frequency. I don't really gable, and I see what you're saying about the fact that it might be a cop out. It's just that many of the people who gamble do it because they feel a psychological need to. I do believe that casino's are an degenerative force though. They take money away from the people who need it the most. From my experiences, more affluent people tend to invest in stocks or other venues (not that that's doing them any good right now) and they tend to stay away from blind gambling like slots.

What I think of investing on stock market is another form of gambling, in which people have to sacrifice betting their money on one stock or another, even they do'nt have any knowledge if that money will earn or not. Still they tried their luck. Take care ...LOL

It is a part of human nature, when we were born, we were given by god. And at the same time, the risk existing, will enforce this nature.

Yeah! Your hard-earned money does'nt deserves to be spent in game of chance, your self or your family and love ones deserves it. That's why all my hard earned money goes to my family and some are for me.

Those who gamble to the extent where they lose their families and houses are typically not gambling because they want to win money. They're gambling because they're addicts and need help.

Yeah! some people treat gambling as for fun, and some who often gambles are addicted to it. But for fun or for an addict, still the rootword is to have money in a least possible time and thats laziness for me. Some person who had just engage in gambling might develop an addiction for he or she sees money in it. Take care and God bless....LOL

I believe people gamble because they see another chance..another hope there. It could be for the better or for the worse. But I don't agree with gambling all the time, maybe we take chances once in a while in our lives but that should be it, no more.

Yes that's it, but what will happen if they were just blinded by the way they look at it. Gambling itself cannot give true peace at the one who goes with it, and everytime they bet they will wish that winning is at their hands, and if they win they get too scared that one might took it away from them or they get confused of what to do with their prizes. Take Care...LOL

I don't think it's lazy, people who gamble seriously work very hard at it. I think the discriptioon you want is addicted. I don't think it's immoral, but since it attracts so much money it also attracts other things of a much darker motive. After all we all gamble in a way when we do anything dangerous. Like crossing the street or driving. All of life is a gamble, and we all do that. In our culture, USA it is very common to bet on almost anything even if the reward is just winning. Does this let you see it from a different perspective?
