when me and my husband was just starting out as gf-bf, i had this perception that he is the type to cry silently without anyone knowing. a couple of years later, i was surprised to know that he is actually the opposite of my impression. he cries in front of me when he gets hurt. he is not afraid to show his weak side, and this is one thing i absolutely love about him. however, i know some women who find men crying a sign of weakness, and thus dislike it in men. but opinion varies. what's your take on this?

It certainly move me when I see men shed their tears. Men will only cry when they are deeply affected and it shows that they are human with feelings and no where are they considered weak. I consider men who cry are romantic. It does not affect his physical strength and I love to see a man cry infront of me.

i agree with you. it even adds up to their strength, i guess. the strength to show that they have a soft side. on a side note, i just have to comment on your photo. since i joined here, you have not changed photos until now. is that you on the picture?

Yep..thats me now. I wouldn't want to change the avatar as it had been with me since I started here 2 years ago but apparently some guys have gone insane over the sexy avatar thinking it was me. The pm stops when I change to the real one lol....

oh. so that's the reason why. but i don't see why they would stop the PMs. you look beautiful in that photo. is that a current one? no offense but it looks old. or did you just add the effect?

I think it depends on how often a man cries. If he cries a lot, that is sort of weak in my opinion. But, I think it speaks volumes about a guy's strength if he can show his vulnerable side and shed some tears. So, I wouldn't want a cry baby but, I also wouldn't want a man who could never cry in front of me either. I think part of what makes a man who can cry sexy is that women are nurturers by nature. But, we are also the ones who are used to being taken care of when we cry. So, to be able to take the lead and take care of a man who has broken down every barrier and needs your emotional strength at that moment is kind of sexy.

As a man I was always taught to be a macho and to be a leader and to show strength in life. It does not mean that I am not sensitive but I have learned to hide my true emotions in front of others when I need to feel to make a good cry! © ronaldinu 2008

as in you have never showed your emotions to others? even your wife? or your gf?

I would say I don't find it sexy nor a turn off. I find it natural and it somehow touches my heart. It simply shows that he's serious about his feelings for me and that's why he's comfortable crying. But, I wouldn't appreciate it if he cries at the instant he is hurt, or perhaps he'd cry faster than me, certainly we want our man to have some sort of heart or emotion too, but if he cries more than me? That's another story. =)

i think that a man crying in front of a woman is a sign of strength. he's no afraid to show his soft side to you and he trusts you. you're blessed to have a husband who treats you as his best friend.

yeah. and i'm thankful for that, too. that way, we never have to hide our emotions from each other. helps a lot to keep an open relationship, right?

I am ok with guys who cry openly. I remember this one time when I saw one of my guy friends crying, I also cried with him. I only hugged him because I did not know what to say words that will console him.
