We would always have a plastic Christmas Tree since we dont really have pine trees in our area and most of the country. So its always been a plastic tree. If I were you Id have to pick a real tree just because I havent had any Christmas with a real tree before and getting to experience that at least one Christmas in a lifetime would be enough.^_^ Whatever you decide, just enjoy the holidays.^_^

I had grown up with a artificial tree. Now as an adult with my own kids I get real trees. I much prefer real trees. They smell good and it just feels more like a real christmas with them.

Christmas is here and so is our discussions too!LOL! Merry Christmas in advance friend! I wish I can have a real tree but its impossible to get one here in our country!! its been a practice to have a christmas tree and in my home we have a 7 foot tree..and its plastic! I believe that in every Filipino home a Plactic Christmas tree is present ( tall or short! as long as its christmas tree!) :0) .. have a great day friend!

Hi bombshell..I noe use a plastic decorated one and it has lights on too, at least that is there for each year rather than buying a fresh one, also it helps to save more trees being cut down...littleowl

I used to always buy real trees, and then plant them on the property once Christmas was over. To me, buying a real tree (a cut one) and then throwing it away after the season, seems like such a waste of trees and natural resources. I bought a nice artificial tree on sale one year, it looks just like a real tree, and everybody that's ever seen it can't believe it's a fake lol. The next year I didn't have to buy any tree, so for the cost of that fake tree, I saved the money I would have spent on a real tree every year. That's quite a savings over the years! The fake tree still looks beautiful & natural after 15 years...so if I spent $40 on a real tree (before) then over 15 years I would have saved a total of $600.00! (Actually, my live trees cost far more than that, so the savings has been even greater) Artificial is nice because you don't have to vaccuum up the pine needles, and there is no watering, nor is there a fire hazard. I've grown to love my fake one, if I want pine scent, I have other greens around the house that provide that~ Whatever you choose, have a happy holiday!

Hello bombshell, First advance merry christams, if in my side it will be better if the real christmas tree, specially in your place have lot of it,the plastic christmas tree we use only in the malls & home that they dont have any real tree & also it will depent to your saving because i heard real one is most expensive than the plastic tree.

I would really prefer to have a real tree rather than the plastic ones. But people like me who lives in a tropical country, would just settle for the plastic ones since we don't don't have those pine trees for Christmas trees. Also, I believe that the real tree emits a very nice scent or pine scent that would make one feel the season more.

Hi bombshell, It's nice to have the real one but practicality wise, I would prefer plastic and I can reuse it! But, maybe if I have a lot of resources, I will try to have the real tree but I will not spend a lot of money on it! LOL!

Well, I'm not the best person to ask. If it were me I would do the plastic tree for two reasons. One, I wouldn't be able to have my mom over, or even visit her for the entire time the tree was in my house. She is violently allergic to real pine trees, and can't stand to be around them, or anyone that has. Second, even if it weren't for my mom's allergies, I still wouldn't want the real tree. For the whole time the real tree is in the house, you have to clean up the dropping pine needles from the tree until you decide to throw it away, plus you have to dispose of your Christmas tree in a special way, you can't just sit it out on the curb. With all that, plus I have to go out and buy a new one every year, I would rather have the plastic tree. You only have to look at it once a year anyway, so why fuss about what its made of?

it all depends on your taste on the room you have and whether you are prepared to look after it during the festive season. i prefer real trees as they give more special meaning especially if you find somewhere you can pick your own and cut it down its fun. but dont forget to keep it watered so the needles do not fall off. we have had good luck and bad luck with real trees. we use plastic now or should i say imitation :) and to be honest its easier, its less messy and they can be made to fit small spaces. real trees are fun for the kids as it brings life to the room :) anyway good luck your choice and sorry was not able to help :)

I think if you ahve a plastic tree, you would be conscious of it and would nt really feel nice about it. having the real tree is always a much better feeling. Plus it has life and is breathing and you can feel the freshness. A real tree for me any day.

It is also nice to try and have a real Christmas tree in the house even just once but if you are thinking to be a practical one then it is better for you to have a plastic in which you could recycle it in the next year of the same celebration...
