And a quarter of U.S. employers expect to make layoffs in the next 12 months.Certain industries are more at risk than others.Housing, finance, retail, and auto industries top the list. This is scary. My mother just got offered a job at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They asked her to work 4 hours a week. It would end up costing her to work there. Do you know anyone working in these areas? Do they have a back up plan?

I feel for them.. but, gosh. I just don't know what we can do. It seems like finances are in such a mess right now. I hate the Republicans for sleeping on the job while they were at the helm. This is just an awful mess.

Wow! that is such a high number..and I bet 75% had kids and family to take care of. It is a shame that jobs are being lost like this I do hope that it will reverse and give people hopes and dreams for the future instead of debt and despair. No I don't know anyone in these areas. It is still sad though.

Four hours a week is not even worth going into work for. I think it is insane that they would even offer someone a job with that few hours. I have an aunt who is a Realtor and she has been going through a rough time lately with the housing market, but she is sticking with it for now.
