Spaghetti or Sauteed Noodles (Pancit Guisado)?

Both are popular among Filipinos and a staple in social gatherings. So, let's say you attend one of these gatherings and these food items are served but you can only choose one, not both, which would you rather eat and why? In my case, I prefer spaghetti (so long as it doesn't have any meat sauce). Otherwise, I will settle for "pancit" (provided it does not have any pork/beef in it :-).

Well If I will attend some parties and both pancit and spaghetti is served, I will eat pancit as almost every house hold really knows how to cook it and almost all turns out good (never had a time that I ate bad pancit) as for spaghetti I prefer teh type that is not sweet and as you know a lot likes their spaghetti Filipino style, so my choice would always be pancit, except form parties where I knew who cooks, like a friend's party

Yes, I also like plenty of cheese on top of spaghetti. Have you tried putting mozzarella in your spaghetti? I thought it's only good as a pizza topping but I tasted it once and it was fine.

You said you "like the canton guisado type than the pancit"? What type of "pancit" are you referring to? - because canton is a pancit, too.

ouch this is not easy to choose. i am quite a good cook and i cook spagetti twice a month at home and so as pansit guisado. so in parties i just take a taste of both. but now that you are letting me to choose one i can say that i will get spagetti i guess.... or it depends on how it was cooked. lol. this is difficult to respond for me for i always take a small serving of both.

when i cook spagetti i keep half of the sauce. then the remaining half i mixed it iwth the pasta. the set aside sauce i will pour it on top of the pasta before serving then top it with cheese. that is what i do. i dont mix it all together. i just cooked pansit last sunday and spagetti on thursday. yum yum have a blessed weekend

When you prepare spaghetti, do you mix it immediately with the sauce or do you prepare the sauce separately for pouring over the pasta later on? Wow, this should have been a separate discussion topic. Heheh. I just noticed that many Pinoys mix the sauce with the spaghetti at once while cooking it.

Right. Kids love spaghetti. But maybe the Jollibee's and McDo's TV commercials and other promo activities have a lot of influence in the ways kids these days prefer which food to eat.

I also like pancit (mixed bihon and canton) with lots of veggies and strips of chicken meat. But I only eat pancit when there's plenty of "calamansi" or "calamondin".

I'll go for "PANCIT GUISADO", if it's cooked the real "pinoy" style. Spaghetti is also my favorite but I always cook it regularly, in different variety, so it's a common food for us. From red (tomato sauce), black (sea foods), green (pesto and vegies) to white spaghetti (white sauce or salmon). Usually, some "pinoy" cook "pancit guisado" in different style also, but I can't be at par with their cooking. Though I tried several times to follow a good recipe.

Wow! I have a gut feeling that you work as a chef, right? Good for you. In my case, I just eat. I don't cook often (because I don't know how...heheh). My skills are restricted to nilaga, sinigang, ginisa, and sometimes frying). But I think I can prepare a nice macaroni/chicken/potato salad. :-)

I don't like spaghetti, I prefer pancit always and I take it anytime over spaghetti, I can eat pancit almost everyday and I like it still

Spaghetti face here. I'm not good at cooking it though. I'd rather get it from Chi-chi's restaurant where they make it from scratch as well as its sauce. Sooo yummy!!! Now i don't have patience on going through all that but I do love spaghetti...except mine. lol I also like Filipino spaghetti cause they add some hotdog pieces in it. Very good with those juicy hotdogs. You think that's weird? Try Chinese spaghetti. They add corn kernel in it. Now that is weird. That's like adding ketchup in your salad. eew!
