C'mon, Push it! You know you want to...

Are you one to press the play button on things you see at the store? I am. It's a reflex for me to reach out and press the play button on dolls, other toys and sample tracks from CDs. I am one to open that musical card while browsing and I'm most likely to open that musical box to hear the wistful tune play. And I tend to get excited about it too. People who've gone out with me to stores know this about me. When they hear a toy dog bark, they would think that was my doing. I think I embarrass them more whenever I bring that item with me to show them what I found and have them listen to it again. Once, I even took a video of a dancing frog. It always makes me smile when I see it.

Big or small, it doesn't matter to me, LittleMel. I hope you only try one perfume or lotion when you do these testers. Do you ever end up smelling like a mishmash of the scents you tested on yourself? Thanks!

That's good, LittleMel. My sister likes to try one or two and the third try would be on me even if I don't like it. Thanks again!

Well My fiance and I are the same way, we enjoy listening to the toys more then anything though, and I think the people who are with are often aggravated by our antics. Although I will admit sometimes I get on to him about doing it, secretly I want to do it as well. The cards that play music are also very fun and especially ones around Valentines Day that are romantic. Cards with love songs make me blush wherein songs that have a dancey tune makes me want to dance.

Oh I'm sure that made you chuckle! It's great to be a kid at heart, no matter how responsible you have to be!

I think this is because a lot of us are kids at heart no matter what age we're at. I'm glad you and your fiance get to kid around and have fun together. I once gave Boyfriend a musical card and he jumped because the music surprised him.

I know what you mean when it comes to being at a store and having to reach out and press the play button on toys, and sample tracks for CD's because it is like they are saying press me,and when ever I am in Wal Mart I have to press the toys that make noise and I also have to press the buttons on CD players because I have to play with them, and I also love to play with the musical cards, for example me,my fiance and my mother were at Wal Mart looking for a card for my fathers birthday and I was playing with the musical cards, and my mother would not let me get a musical card for my father which sucks if you ask me.

Why won't she let you buy it? That's too bad. You and your fiancee seem to like doing this stuff. Enjoy doing it together. Thanks Cowboy.

Hi anne! Oh no not again! Another weirdo thing that we have in common! We should go shopping together! We would have such a blast! We would probably get kicked out of the store! I do the same thing! I will pick up or press anything like you that will play or make some kind of sound and carry it around with me and embarass whoever I'm with! One time I was with my girlfriend and we were in Target. I think we must have walked through the toy department or something and there was this animated toy. It was supposed to be the Rapper 50 Cent but it was a Rapper Frog singing his song "Go Shorty It's Your Birthday" and I'm walking around the store with this frog who is moving his arms and legs and bobing his head and everyone is looking at me and the kids are asking me where I got it. My girlfriend actually ended up buying it for me because she thought it was so funny! In fact, we went to the movies afterwards and I kept playing it in the theater before the movie started. I had so much fun. I still have it right here with me!

"We gonna party like it's yo birthday!!!" This is too amusing. Dancing frog, check! Tendency to press anything, check! Another thing in common with you, Opal. I should have met you when I went to New York last year. I don't know how far Yonkers is from Manhattan but it's still New York. I heart NY!

OMFG! You were in NY last year? I live 45 minutes from Mahattan! Come back! We could have so much fun! When you coming back? I don't believe you were here last year! Damn! I just came to mylot in July! That would have been so cool! We could have seen how many places we could have been kicked out of!

I was there for a week! It was very fun and cheap as we stayed with a friend who had a place back then close to Wall Street. Maybe next time, Opal. I would surely let you know as I know I would definitely visit NY one more time.

Well, I don't have a kid to carry with me so I have more reasons to do this kind of thing. I hope you had a fun time with your son at the mall. Take care, red_a.

Yes i do tend to push buttons and make noise. It makes me smile and all around me people are shaking their heads thinking how much noise i am causing. I do it expecially at the holidays when they bring out all the toys you can push. I make them all sing lol

I don't really care if I embarrass those who are with me on these shopping trips, drannhh. I think my excitement tops the social awkwardness that might come with it. So chuckle away!

LOL people make fun of me but I get excited about pushing all the buttons at once with the "Elmo's" and the singing christmas collectables. I once tried to organize a symphony with Rock n Roll Elmo to the singing and dancing christmas trees along with farting santa. It was a hoot. I did it last night in walmart with the reindeer and Elmo and some little kid light up thingy. I love it. I can't help it. It says "TRY ME" so I do. CHeers!

I don't think I've ever come across a farting Santa. Maybe that's because I try to stay away from Santa. That's the only thing Christmasy that I don't dare come close to. Santa! I don't like him moving or in this case, farting! Elmo's laugh is pretty contagious. Cheers to you too, peedielyn and keep enjoying!

Lol I do this, in fact yesterday I pressed about ten of these musical buttons which spoke or sang. It was highly amusing!

I love to do that in a store set off all the toys and listen to them all going off. I know eventually one of the employees will come walking over and make me stop but it's haveing the fun while it lasts right? lolol and who said toys like that were made just for kids? I think we all have a kid still inside us no matter what our age.

Hello Remembering1996. (I am curious as to what about 1996 that you're remembering) I walk away once I see an employee close in on me. I just try to look around and shrug as it it wasn't me, even though I have one of the toys in my hand. Besides, the customer is always right. Right? Thanks!

Hello SaintAnne! I also have the same compulsion! Whe I go to department or toy stores with my kids, I open musical boxes, I squeeze hands of talking dolls, I sound door chimes, etc. and I guess my kids are sometimes embarrassed too when I combine sounds of these stuffs for product testing..it's maybe nurturing the child n us? I don't know but I surely ejoy it!

Ahahah, you got it bad when your kids get embarrassed when mommy does that. And thank you for reminding me about the sound chimes. I think it's the imp in us that makes us do this, mjmlagat.

Lol, I love to do that too. Now that I have a son... it gives me an excuse. I pretend like I'm pushing the buttons just for him, but really I would have done it anyway. I'm glad Im not the only one.

Based on the responses I got, glords, we are not the only two. I like how you use your son as your excuse. My cousin and I once got on a ferris wheel with this little girl and after the first rotation, both my cousin and I were ready to get off the ride and we told the attendant that the little girl got scared.

I have to admit that when it comes to pushing the buttons on toys, I am worse than my kids. They will only push buttons on the toys that really interest them, I will purposely push the buttons on every single toy I come across just to do it. Back wen the boucing Tigger toys came out, I set off an entire display of them. It was so funny watching the entire shelf unit bounce with the toys.

Hello SachseMom! I already like you and your kids. I'm sure some other people don't like us when we're doing that. But they are just so tempting... and so fun! Thanks for sharing and continue having fun with your kids.
