This year I am going to put my clocks back 25 hours.

Instead of everyone putting their clocks back one hour on Sunday night, I am proposing everyone put their clocks back 25 hours. This way I will have two Sundays which will make an extra long weekend that I can rake up the leaves, clean up after Halloween and close up the cottage, or people can laze around if they want. Next spring I will put the clocks ahead 25 hours, this will skip one whole Monday, which nobody likes anyways. I will call it Super Standard Time and Super Daylight Savings Time. :) What do you think?

I like your screen name. At first when I came across it I was wondering if you where from Mariposa CA, USA. I graduated from high school there. I see you are from CA the country. Why did you pick Mariposa Man? do you collect butterflies? Or does it mean something else. I collect teapots and my son gave me this name when he sat up my email account.

I know there is a county in California. However my Mariposa relates to the fictious town written about in Stephen Leacock's Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, a humorous collection of stories about a thinly disguised Orillia where Stephen Leacock lived and had a beautiful house on Brewery Bay. I live here in Orillia and the man part refers to my plumbing . I do not know why he picked the name Mariposa which apparently means butterfly in Spanish. Maybe because there is specualtion that Orillia is similar to the Spanish word for gold.

What a wonderful idea. It's even great for all of those football fans because they will have two whole days to watch football instead of one. And, I for one know that my husband will love it because he is typically only off work on Sundays so it will mean that he will have two full days off instead of just one. I'm totally with you on this idea. Now, who do we take the idea to next to get it to fly?

Hello mariposaman. It is a cool idea of yours to have a Super Standard Time and Super Daylight Savings Time.

As much as that sounds appealing, I don't think my employer would do the same so that would mean that I'd be skipping a day in HER calendar and I wouldn't get paid for it :P Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Wow this is perhaps the most interesting logic I have ever heard (its a wonder I didnt think of it )and its all for a couple of leaves ,to clean up and closing a cottage lol, I dont want to imagine what you would do with your clocks if you wnated an entire month for vacationing lol. Good idea though and I hope it would work cause I would also opt to skip mondays but I would lengthen the entire week so that i could laze around all week.Do you have a clock that cand do that ? I like your discussion a lot .

Well mariposaman, it’s a good idea by putting the clock back 25 hours and by doing this you could enjoy an extra Sunday to do whatever things you wish. Really it’s rather interesting to manipulate and adjust the clock to suit our interest. We never have this idea here as our weather is the same all year round. Anyway it's quite interesting to think that we have really control time though the earth is still keeping on rotating as usual. Have a nice day and posting.

If you can get this idea to fly, I say go for it. Although I actually do like Mondays and might miss that day.

That's awesome! I think that's just the greatest idea I have ever heard. I think we all deserve it. I wonder why we didn't all do this a long time ago!

Hello mariposaman! Your idea is very brilliant! I am just sad that we don't have it here because our time is always fixed. But actually I really hate when Monday comes because I am lazy to go to school after weekends.
