Hi all, Beware of any program that calls itself Antivirus 2009. This rogue anti-virus program, once installed, will flood your computer with fake infections... Panicking you, then told you to purchase software that will "clean up" your computer by using your credit card. In the end.. you're another victim in identity-theft scams. So please NEVER install such software... don't fall into the trap... Happy myLotting. CHEERS!!

Whoever is responsible sends legitimate looking emails. In the past month I have received more than three emails exhorting me to download Antivirus 2009 after informing how my PC is at risk. All the emails were deleted. I believe the same person or group is also responsible behind other similar tactics since I also received emails about the need to download a new firewall, new PDF reader, and new activation code. All of them look and sound similar to me.

Thanks for the info, although I am normally very careful what I down load, and I am currently running Avasy anti virus software which seems to keep me well covered, and free from viruses.

Hi Jason, I think we need to educate users that Antivirus 2009 is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it's websites using your HOSTS file. Happy myLotting!!

Hi kiinin. Sounds really horrible and shameful virus. I think we all have antivirus sofeware and that can prevent it, I suppose? But sometime there are virus that are so powerful and they can destroy the computer system. How terrible. We got more and more heckers nowdays...Those guys are very smart and foxy and good at the tricks and gain joy from destroying the whole network. I will keep an eye on this Antivirus 2009, thanks for sharing.

Hi Denise, Relying on just antivirus software is not enough, as cyber criminals are getting more and more innovative... We need to protect ourselves against all possible threats, educate ourselves and always run a good security suite that includes antivirus, antispyware and worm protection. Lets all be more alert !!
