Do you think that Mylot shall show the email address of its members?

The reason that myLot does not reveal email addresses of its users is because there are those that harbor email addresses only for spamming. Also, being that many people have several email addresses, at times, they would have friends contact them at a different address instead of the one used for MyLot. Probably easier said than done, but MyLot can probably have a some way for us to contact people who have not come back in a while. At the same time, there is also a chance that they don't want to be contacted, but that's their loss.

No, I do not think it is a good idea. Some people may abuse this feature and I wouldn't want to receive spam because my email address is out there for anyone to see. However, I do have a way for people to reach me without them sending a PM through mylot. It is listed at the top of my profile. It is a way to receive emails without listing my email address. No I don't think it is a good thing because many will misuse this information (ie : spamming) I believe that if you are close enough to someone on mylot then you can ask for their e-mail address and they simply might give it to you ;) Wouldn't that be better than havign no control (or litle) over who can have access to it ?

I think that it should be up to each member whether their e-mail is visible to the general public. I myself would have to seriously consider how much junk e-mail i would have to contend with.

I think it should be conducted as anyother site. If they want to give you their email addresses they will, if not, they have their reasons. Or they are flakey or whatever. If they chose to make their email addresses public knowledge then more power to them. This is one thing I enjoy and appreciate about the internet. You can do pretty much as you please and have all the anonymity you wish.

Basic information??? Lol. Do you want your email address to be full of spams? Spammers will attack mylot if this happens. Email addresses should be held in private. Email addresses can also be hacked. So don't expose your email in public! And also you can't force any members to be active here in mylot. Let them decide for themselves.

This is not a good idea my friend because people can use these email addresses to spam! And I certainly wouldn't be happy having my email on display so I could get bombarded with spam from people I don't know. Emails are private and in all honesty if someone wants others to know their email they should be asked first. That is what I do, if anyone wants my email address and they are my friends I will give it to them but NOT for anyone!

I don't. There are others that may want to spam the email addresses.But I have met a good friend that left but he gave me his email address via the private message.

I guess to prevent other people from stealing email address for spam, it is better not to show the email addresses here. Anyway, when you send a PM to the user, they will usually get a notification in the email address they registered with mylot. So no worries about them not receiving your messages if you just PM them rather than sending them via the email. No? I mean, you do not mind people seeing your email address on mylot?

That is a good idea. But I rather wanted it for request only. I mean, we can request for it and not really showing it in public. For privacy reason. It is my opinion only.

i think its not a good idea.because we still have respect some privacy even friends e mail.if you want you can ask their e mail add or message them.

I would love to know my friends e-mail addresses as well... with the same reason as yours. But I am not willing to give mine just to anybody else unless... they are my TRUSTED FRIENDS HERE like YOU!

Oh no I do not think its a good suggestion,dear...........It will not be nice if mylot starts supplying email addresses of mylottians,without thier knowledge.....It will create mayhem as any body can get our email IDs and we will never be able to mylot ,let alone live in peace,especially the female population......Its best for each mylottian to get the email ID of his or her friend through PMs,after getting to know each other ,and after they reach their comfort level..So its best to start collecting the email Ids of your friends,by sending them PMs...Good luck,youless.....

I don't think they should show anyone's e-mail address unless the person wants them to. To me, an e-mail address is akin to a phone number. If I want people to see it, I would broadcast it, but if I don't I wouldn't. While you might have good intentions in your case, there are people out there who wouldn't hesitate to spam people's mailboxes so full that no one would be able to send a legitimate e-mail to that person.

I think the option should be given to everyone to choose to show their email address or not. Many might not want to and I usually don't give my email address out unless I know the person really well. I would rather be given the option to show it or not.

I think mylot should only show the email address with the consent of the member... i myself would not want the whole world to know my email address because there are a lot of spammers out there... so if you have a good friend here... i suggest you ask them for their email... just in case they become inactive for a long time...

I wouldn't want mine shown - anyone can then just join Mylot and have a HUGE MASSIVE emailing list! Can you imagen the spam and crap that we'd get? Not to mention the virus' and all that goes with it? Heavens, no, don't display email addresses. If you want to talk with someone, that is why they have the private message option. If you become friends with someone, then swap email addys, and if one leaves MyLot - make sure you get their email before they go or make sure you give it to those you want to have it before you leave. But just to make email addys blantantly available for anyone and everyone - - no, please no!

I am ok if mylot allows us to share in PM as the email is gateway for all. And even any people can enroll us into any sites with our won email id as well. even in mylot there is no email id verification concept as well, so you may be pushed into unnecessary things if your id is open.
