How long has it been since you've used the "Fountain Pen"??

Fountain Pen.... - it is always such a pleasure to write with an ink pen. Unlike the ball point pen one just cannot drag and scribble resulting in bad handwriting. And that is one of the reasons that i like the ink pen better than the jotter or ball point pen.

When i was in school it was compulsary for us to use a fountain pen/ ink pen. but by the time i reached 10th standard i lost touch with the fountain pen. Although i lovd to use an ink pen, i somehow stopped using it!! Most probably the ball point pens are hassel free and that you dont require to fill in ink all the time. In our school handwriting was very important and that is why we were made to use ink pens as you could not just scribble with them!! I miss my old fountain pen, none the less i am going to buy a new one and start writing with it once again. Its been ages since i have written in ink and i would love to do it again. How long has it been since you have written with an ink pen???

Hi friend, well it has been almost more than 10 years since I stopped using ink pen but I would love to use it again at times.I remember my old school days.I used to keep extra two ink pens with me so that I don't need to fill ink and mess my uniforms at school. Our school was also very strict, upto 7th standard we practice cursive writingsand no ball point pens were used untill I reached my 11th standard. You reminded me of my good old school days.Thank you for this discussion.I am missing my ink pen now,I got to buy one.

Yes , it was the same at our school too, we had to practice cursive writing and then all of us ended having the same kind of handwriting, lol!!!

Hmmm... my father too had a calligraphy set and he was very possesive about itas i used to put a lot of pressure on the nib spoiling it,lol!! So it was always kept safely from my reach but i somehow used to hunt for it and spoil it,i was quiet young then to understand the value of it.

After I have passed 12th standard I haven't used fountain pen regularly.I only used it for writing records and assignments.Writing with fountain pen improves the handwriting. But it is slower when compared to writing with ball point pen.So when I reached college I usually wrote with ball point pen.As a result my handwriting became bad.So the thing I have to say is if you get an opportunity to write with fountain pen use it.

I used to really love writing with a fountain pen too! I have not used one for many years also. It was not compulsory to write with them at school but we were taught how to use them, and I had a couple of my own personal fountain pens at home. I have always loved different types of stationery and still possess some of my old fountain pens - maybe I will get them out and start using them again!

Very very long time ago, I use it. About 18 years ago. I liked it back then. But I feel it as a messy one. Has the hassle of filling ink. If it falls down it tends to get spoiled easily. Bit heavy to hold and write. I think i used for 4 years before I switched to ball point pens.

I had a fountain pen about 10 years ago, but it got lost somewhere along the way. I really liked writing with it though.

I think I last used one about 30 years ago. Funny, I was thinking about that type of pen the other night. I used to love to use different color inks--green, purple, peacock blue. I hate the way ballpoints blob up every so often and they're not smooth writing like a fountain pen! I'd like to get another one someday.

Hi there Sangs Turks. I think the last time i used a fountain Pen was back when i was still in my 1-4 grades in school. I use now pens or gel pens, or even pencils but not fountain pens as i feel that they are slowing me down and plus they stain a lot (especially on hands ).

I could not even remember the last time i used a fountain pen.it seems to be ages since i used it....MAybe because the refills of the fountain pens are costly so i did not get the chance to reload the fountain pen i had.and come to think of it,i dont even remember where that fountaion pen was..
