Posting quality responses in MyLot

Philippines

I'm a newbie in Mylot and I realized that I am having a hard time posting responses and comments because it takes time to think about what I have to say regarding a certain matter. Makes me wonder how some people where able to make thousands of posts and if it took them a while to do it or were they able to do it in a months time. Does every mylotter consider the quality of their responses? Like if it is really helpful to the people who will be reading it? Anyone who wants to share on this?

I'm new too and I'm so happy you decided to post this question! I got an email from an invite and had no idea what MyLot was until today! I was also curious if people are actually reading the responses or caring or am I just wasting my time looking for conversation and the like. I work for ChaCha and we have a lot of people that don't care and just answer to get the money which makes us all look bad so I'm happy that they seem to have a QC system set up here so that people that care and enjoy responding can not be looked at badly as "gaming" and still make a little something.

Greetings, This is my first post to MyLot since i joined about an hour ago. The content of this site seems to be the main point in delivering high quality "issues" to users. Even if i am not a MyLot user, I can see someone harvesting a good amount of information based on peoples opinions. I have spent the last hour researching the "feel" of MyLot, and I have to say that it has a very "Community" effect to it. I feel like I can become part of something large, and knowing that it takes people with strong and true hearted opinions, ever strengthens the importance of the related content, which makes people like me feel as though we are contributing something to the community. I feel as though many users on MyLot have a scense of belonging, and that feeling or attitude has and will helped shape MyLot as a community. I shall enjoy my days here at MyLot and I look forward to becoming friends with many of you. Please don't be shy, I'm new and looking for Topics and people to get involved with. MyLot is YourLot!

It took me two months to reach this number of posts. I was active since last September and yes quality should always be considered whenever you respond to a discussion or whenever you start a discussion. Your responses or discussions must have Quality and Quantity. For you to have a quality response make sure that you respond to the discussion that completely interests you. Quantity - your response or discussion must be descriptive and should not be going in circles. Try to make your response at least 20 words or 2-3 sentences then for your discussions it should be at least 5-6 lines. Don't forget to rate other users. It helps myLot determine the quality of your post. Happy myLotting and I hope you'll enjoy it here!

Hi friend,I felt the same initially but when once you start posting you get used and your number of responses also increase .But only quality posts are important and we even get 2 cents per post for quality posts.Even you concenterate on number of posts and not quality you would get very less earnings. So concenterate on quality posts. It should be descriptive and apt to the discussion. So select discussions which you can give a best response.thanks for sharing.happy mylotting.

well, when i respond i make sure that it doesnt hurt anyone. and if possible, you give comments which are really nice and which really comes from your thoughts... when i start a discussion, i really dont plan about it. when something pops up out of my thoughts, i do write about it or sometimes, i share my experiences...

its also the same question i want to ask, i have joined here for about 15days, it;s really a difficult thing for me to response other's discussion. especially when they reply our own topics. many answer is hard to understand. if i anser "thanks for your response" it violates the mylot rules, how can i do?

I try to post quality responses but I balance that with my earning potential. There are different kinds of posts ,some are intended to help persons while others are intended to stimulate discussion. The key to mylotting I believ is finding a balance between all of these types of posts.

zukepr is right. You will get banned because of short response in discussions and comments. I have two accounts in mylot, i've also have bad experience last year. i have an account and it have 8000 post but most of the post i write is short. After a month i've been banned in the site. First i'm confused because why i'm banned but soon i realized when i read the FAQ and read in some discussions of other members. So try to make your response longer. I will start over again and avoid mistake i make last time.

I do try to make each of my posts have effort and quality, but there are some discussions that you simply can't make a really worthy response to, it might be something very trivial, like the type of hand lotion you use, something that is really hard to turn into a meaningful conversation.

You can searched for some reference books or website where in you can learn something and share it here.It is still a good thing to read a lot, it will not only give you enough topic, but will educate us more of the different things in life. And you know, you cannot pay the wisdom gain from reading. Since I am fond of reading, It is not hard for me to start a good discussions here, a discussions that can give some information and knowledge to others. Try it its fun and educational.

I myself also a newbie in myLot and I always try to give good responses as possible. At first it takes time to think and give responses to discussions. But don't worry too much because as time pass by, you can easily make a good response. Just involve yourself in many discussions because it will train your thinking skills and also your descriptions.

Yes, I do. I don't go for length but for quality. If I focus on the qualiy and getting straight to the point, the lenght will come. I do care about my responses because I think of what it would be like if I were the poster of the discussion. Yes, one bad post is not going to matter, but I prefer to give it 100%. I mean, it's more about the money, it's about the content and making this site a better place to spend time. Therefore, I focus on quality and not length.

I only respond to posts that interest me, and that I actually have something to say or give advice about. There are a lot of quality topics and responses on here, however there also seem to be a lot of topics that people don't seem to think about before posting them. I find it very hard to be interested in a topic that has terrible grammar and punctuation. If I have to read a post three times just to try to understand what the person is talking about, I generally won't respond to it.

Dear Friend, First of all welcome to myLot! Regarding the posting of the quality responses, all I can say is that you should plan mentally before answering any discussion. Your response should be relevent and informative! It should serve the purpose for which it is intended! It should be eloborative and detailed one! Thus a quality discussion always draws attention of others and mylot is no exception to it! Mylot people always requesting us to post quality discussions! Well regarding your query if every one is posting quality discussions or not! It is judged by your star rating which you are going to get once you score more than 100and also from your earnings. From ordinary responses you can normally make a small amount of earnings! Like by responding about 50 responses you can make some 50 cents in a day if they are ordinary types. Where as very few like say about ten of quality discussions can get you the same amount! Thus quality discussions always pays you better! Yes it takes months together, for that matter years together to post thousands of discussions and responses! If you go to my profile ans see my responses and dicussions initiated you will find that I try to be as eloborative as possible and as detailed as possible and I try to be relevent and I use polite and easy language understandable to every member! Thus let me tell you that here on this forum to be popular, to have good fellow shop and fairly good earnings you should post a quality discussion or response though you may take a long time to do so! Wish you all the best and Happy myLotting!

Welcome silverglint. A tip on how to post quality responses, you have to establish your area of interest. You can easily respond to various topics if you are really interested. Views and opinions would just flow easily. Another tip, give comments immediately. Don't bother to look for the opinions of other people before giving your own views. Doing that, you would be lost of words because you are thinking of posted responses. You will not like that, so just write what comes into your mind.

i always try to make quality response but that's not easy at all... took me 5 days to make almost 50 post and i spend at least 5-10 to create and post answers (also cause i'm not english so i need so time to translate everything eheh)... anyway here quality is what counts most, for people, for the community and also for u if u want to make more money while posting here... earning goes hand in hand with ur post quality so better to spend more time writing and earn more then write just one line response and get nothing ;)
