Based on a true story

Do you like watching movies that are based on a true story? Or a movie that is based on a person's life? I just finished watching Walk The Line, based on the life of Johnny Cash. It gave me an appreciation for a singer that I hardly new anything about. I also enjoyed watching Ray, the story of Ray Charles. I knew a bit about him, but not all of the struggles he went through. What is your favorite true story movie? Is there any particular person you would most like to see a movie about their life?

I haven't seen Rudy in years. I also liked Radio, but it made me sad at times. I almost cried. I don't think I can watch that movie again.

Yes I do enjoy watching real life movies but I did not enjoy RAY. I love his music so much and that movie really made him look bad and I did not watch it all so that I did not think any bad thought of him.

Yeah I like real movies too. but some of the stuff you learn about people isn't always things I think they would want put out there for the whole world to know! Honestly I think it's kinda sad seeing some peoples hard times made into a movie! I guess it's there way to make money But I don't always Agree~

T this day I have to say Walk The Line is my fave based on a true story movie. My wife and I saw it in the theatres when it was released. Thewn when it cam out on DVD we bought it. That is a great movie with a great soundtrack as well. I am awaiting a movie to be made about JFK that will go further in depth of his life and military times etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That would be good, I don't know too much about the life of JFK. I've found that I learn a lot about a person if they make a movie about them, and then I'm so interested that I end up doing a bit of research on the net and learn as much as I can about them. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie W and how much truth that movie has.

I like Walk the Line, but I don't think I normally watch movies based on peoples entire lives. I have watched a lot of Lifetime movies based on real events though.

Based on real events is good too, like Pearl Harbor. I liked watching that and seeing what people had gone through back then. I also enjoy watching movies of things that could become true, like Armeggedon.

I think these types of movies make them extra special because they were inspired by true events. That takes the whole movie watching experience to a higher level. You get to relive what another has actually gone through. Ray is an awesome film and I got to learn more about him just by watching it. One film that comes to mind right now is The Pursuit of Happyness. I really want to read the book from the actual man who found his way back into the world. I find it interesting.

I've seen that movie, persuit of happyness. It was interesting, but I didn't think it was all that great honestly. Granted it was based on a true story, so they could not have made it more interesting unfortunatly, I just didn't think it was much of an entertaining movie.

yes, I really enjoy watching such kinds of movies. These kinds of movies are inspirational and we can learn a lot by seeing them. True story based movies always have a message so that we can watch and enjoy and Learn. for example, a movie on Gandhiji is a very good watch and also very educational.
