I was asked to bring a side dish for thanksgiving to my friends house. Still debating on what to bring because I don't want the ordinary dishes. I am trying to think of something fun yet tasty. Please share your recipe if you have any ideas.

I made something with dinner tonight that the kids cannot get enough of. I got it out of a cookbook put out by Paula Deans sons, Ricky and Bobby. It is really simple. I might make it with Thanksgiving dinner myself this year. It is only three ingredients. Spread a package of cream cheese on the bottom of a small casserole dish. Cover with thawed frozen corn. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350. Take it out and pour some French Fried onions on top, then put back in for about 5 minutes. For a thanksgiving side dish you might need to do a bigger casserole dish and more corn and onions than I use.

Stuffing muffins would be a fun choice. Rachel Ray does those, so the recipe should be on the Food Network site. Another fun option would be baked sweet corn. That is always yummy. Then, there's pumpkin soup. It is very in keeping with the holiday, and there are all sorts of ways to make it.
