freecycle

I have had good and bad experiences. I have given tons away but rarely get anything I try and get. I think it is traded among a select few. I also get along of no shows. but the group never does anything about them. After holding on to something for 3 weeks. I just pitch it to the trash. It gets picked up by peopel driving by. I just tell freecycle it has bene picked up than.

I've been a Freecycle member for several years. I've never really had any bad experiences except for a couple of no-shows that didn't have the courtesy to contact me that they weren't coming. Everything that I've had gifted to me has been good. I guess I've been fortunate in that aspect. I've been able to put new flooring in my house as well as build the sunroom I've always wanted by being given the windows needed to do so. (My husband said the windows would be the biggest expense. Imagine his surprise when we obtained thirteen sunroom window.)

This is the second time in about 30 mins, that I have heard about this... Freecycle. What is it? I was thinking maybe a website... but from the comment on this discussion. I'm guessing it's a hand me down type place. Like Goodwill but free? I've never heard of this. Is it new?
