I came cross a very interesting story about the pencil.I would like to share the story in short.A grandmother tells her grandson that she hopes he will grow up to be like the pencil. She explains the 5 qualities of the pencil
1st quality-You are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps- this can be your inner self.you are the only one who has control this can be your religion if need be i.e God/Buddha etc
2nd quality-Now and then I have to stop writing and use the sharpener. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterwards he's much sharper. So you too must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows because they will make you a better person.
3rd quality-The pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out our mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing,it helps to keep us on the road to justice.
4th quality-What really matters in a pencil is not the wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.
5th Quality-It always leaves a mark in just the same way you do, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark.So try to be conscious of that and in your every day.

In the sense of the saying that the pen is mightier than the sword, I would have to say yes. Because back when that expression first came out, they were saying that if you put something on paper and spread it around, it couuld be worse than killing someone.
I guess in the sense of a newspaper or magazine. In today's world it might even include not only the pen, or pencil, but also text. Since a lot of times we don't even have to have ink or lead to write and have something published. All we have to do is put it on the internet and away it goes. Anyone can read it. Isn't it amaziing.
Interesting discussion you have started here! Thanks and have a great day!

Hi mitraa. Well, it have some sides of the same question. If you take the sense by the order of time we can say "Pencil is mighter than cannon". If you take the sense by the time that keep the words written we can say that the pencil can't keep the words much time at least the same time that ink can does. If you take the sense by the sense that a pen can be an arm too we can say that the pencil can be an arm with two edges because someone can erase some words in the text and change all the sense in that. If you take the sense by that teaching to use a pen is the short way to give freedon we can say that the pencil is important in the same way because children use the pencil to learn how to write.
No matter if pen or pencil because both have one more important use. Both can be used to draw and a picture can register and tell the truth of some fact.
Have a nice day.
