Is the best one for occasional to weekly baking? Wich is the best value for the money. I know they are pricey but this is the only thing I want for Christmas. I didn't get anything for my birthday other than dinner out and my hubby buys for himself all during the yr. I was thinking of asking for one but I'm not sure wich one to get I'm thinking the Atisian but I'm not sure if I should just get the classic if I get one at all. What one do you have? How did you decide?

I have the Kitchen Aid Classic. I use it at least a few times a week for all kinds of baking. Mine has the whisk beater, and a dough hook, besides the regular beater bar. Yes, they are kind of pricey, but in all my many years of owning one, I only have had to get a new replacement once...and that was my own fault for getting my spatula caught when it dropped in by accident and bent the shaft that holds the beater! Despite the price, I would never bother to get one of those hand held mixers ever again. I think the Kitchen Aid is worth it because it's less tiring to use than a hand held electric mixer, and it wears forever! When I bought this last one, I was in the middle of finishing up my daughter's 4 tiered wedding cake for the next day. I dropped the spatula in by accident; it was late at night when I was finishing doing the icing decorations. It's the only time I've ever been to a 24 hour K-Mart at 1:30 am in my whole life lol. There was no hesitation in thought, I went straight for the Kitchen Aid Classic because I loved my previous one so well and think it's the best value for my money. Even though I do a lot of baking, cakes, breads, etc, I don't need anything fancier than this model.

Thanks for the tip I'll be sure to watch what I drop into the bowl ;) I'd love a 24hr k-mart! The only things we have here that are 24hrs anymore are walgreens :p

I don't have one but I would love to. I like the colors they come in. The one I have is very old - over 30 yrs. It still works good but I would like something newer although I don't use a mixer much. I might use it more if I had all the neat attachments.

I don't have one but I would like one. I've used them before in cooking classes, but I don't know what model specifically. I think it was the classic though. One of my friends has one and I want to make something using it sometime. I wish I bought one of those instead of a food processor, because I still haven't used that even though I bought it 2 years ago. I just haven't had the time.
