I'm sure most people on here also have a job...what do you do?

I'm just making an assumption when I say this, but judging by what I've read by others on here, I would say that no one makes a TON of money on myLot and has a job they go to? I would like to open up a discussion on everything you all do to make money. How many jobs does everyone have? What all do you do to make money and/or extra income? Are you happy at what you do? How long have you been doing it? Tell me everything you can think of that has to do with your career life. Me? Well, I do have a full time job. I actually have the opportunity to post on myLot a lot during my job, so that's just kind of an added bonus to me :) I work full time for a successful real estate company, and have been here for 1 1/2 years. I work as a staff member in the office doing all the marketing for the agents. I create and print open house flyers, maintain mailing lists, create post cards, update and maintain websites, and any other marketing/computer work the agents need me to do. I love what I do! I also sell Avon, but don't consider it a job b/c I don't sell enough right now to make that much extra money. I basically sell enough right now to maybe pay for any products I order. Thank you for your time in reading my post, and I hope to hear from everyone about their current jobs outside of myLot!

I work as a concierge in a five star resort in Bali island, Indonesia.. I love my job and especially the hotel I've worked. My desk is open air with thatched roof and facing to the fish & lotus pond while in my background is a beautiful view of Indian ocean (so the guest who sit in my desk will have the oceanview). I love it especially because I met people from all around the world and it's interesting for me. My main duty is to arrange all in house activities or tour and provide information for our in house guest, Not an easy job especially during holiday season. But on a low season like now, I can enjoy mylotting from my desk because we have not too many guests so I can relax while working...

Thank you so much for the response! You're job sounds so fascinating. I would love to be able to work in such a beautiful atmosphere all the time. I'm stuck inside a stuffy office building for 9 hours a day! Although I'm not crammed in a tiny cubicle, I am in the basement....lol. Anways, it sounds like you enjoy your job very much so, which I don't know how you wouldn't!

I work part time for a Deparment store as a Sales Support Manager, mostly during the holidays though. Next year I will be looking for something full-time maybe back in the Library field or Administration. I was a stay at home prior to picking up my part time job, and since my son is in school, I'm able to work certain hours during the day. He is still my first priority though.

Thank you so much for the response. I'm so glad to hear that people make their kids their first priority as do I. It's so hard for me to spend as much time with my son as I would like to when I have to work full time in order to support my family. I keep telling my son, who is 4, that someday I will be able to work less and spend more time with him!

Thank you so much for the response. I would love to be able to work directly from home, working the hours that are convenient for me. It is very true in finding a way to earn extra income. That's one reason why I joined myLot, not knowing how much I would actually enjoy it as well. It's not much money here, but that's pretty much just the added bonus next to having discussions with people around the world.

Thanks for the response. It sounds like you enjoy teaching, as you have been doing it for many years. I too find myLot as a bonus. Obviously the pay is nothing to live off of, but getting enjoyment out of it is what really matters.

Thank you for taking the time to response to my discussion. It sounds like you enjoy doing what you are doing. That would be such a beneficial job also to be able to practice speaking another language. I took four years of Spanish in school, but am far from having the ability of speaking it fluently.

It sounds like your job is pretty cool.. And you get to use your creativity. I went to college so i can work in the morgue and i had 4 classes left to graduate but I got pregnant and moved to get married and all that stuff... but now they wont let me finish unless it's at their school but thats like across the country so I am going to school to be a nurse next summer... As on now I am staying home with my two babies while my husband works. he's an electrician and he's going to school next month to be a paramedic. I'm going to be working at the mall for the holidays to help save up for the college next summer. So I am college educated but unable to get a job in that feild. oh well. i'm going to do really good at college because i already took all those classes.

I no longer work outside the home. I am a full time SAHM. I also work for a company called ChaCha. They are texting company, you text your questions to them, and they find the answers. My job is to organize the questions and send them, in correct question format, to the person who researches the answer. On occassion, I answer the questions directly. I also homeschool my children, so teacher falls in there. It's a busy hectic messy life and I really like it this way.

Thank you so much for your response. I really do envy the ones that have the benefit of working out of their home. I would love to be able to make my own work schedule and do it out of my home. Although I know I would need something else, something to get me out of the house otherwise I know I would go nuts! But as long as you are happy doing what you're doing, that's all that matters.

I do not have a job outside of the home for the last seventeen years i have been bringing up my five children, for two of them years, i was a single parent to the four eldest. The last three and half years i have been a carer for my disabled partner. I love being a full time mum and my children make it all worth while. Before i had my eldest who is now 17, i worked in a play center for children aged 2-5 years. I hope to go back to that type of work when my youngest starts school. I come on mylot to get a bit of extra spending money and i also do some online surveys to get a little extra as well.

Thank you so much for the response. That's so cool that you're able to spend your time at home raising your kids and that you love doing it too. I'm sure it takes LOTS of patience working not only with your kids but working with other peoples kids as well. I don't have the right kind of personality to be able to work at any kind of play center, daycare or school!

I work in a private hospital dealing with incoming referrals from local GPS on the NHS system. The NHS simply has waiting lists that are too long, and not enough staff/facilities to deal with all the patients. So, a 'referral scheme' has been set up where patients can be treated at a private hospital and the bills are paid by the NHS. This helps them to deal with their waiting times... but dumps a lot of pressure on us (y).

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my discussion. That sounds like a great system this company has going on. I've never heard of such a company. Sometimes jobs with a little bit of pressure aren't such a bad thing, they make the time go by faster. I myself often work better under pressure. Though too much pressure can be quite stressful at times.

Thank you so much for the response. I'm sorry to hear that you aren't working much right now. I know that must be hard on you financially. Good luck with finding legit ways to make good money online - I have searched quite a bit and haven't found much. myLot has been the best thing I've found. You pretty much earn whatever effort you put into it. Though myLot doesn't take much effort therefore you don't make to much money, it's very enjoyable to me.

I do not have a job. I am a housewife with four daughters. I worked until two years ago and then I got sick. I use Mylot to try to earn some money for little things. I came to this site for the money, but now I have made lots of good friends, so the money is a bonus to me now. I would love another work from home job as I cannot breath very well, but most of them do not pay that well.

I have searched all over the internet for legit work at home jobs in order to be able to spend more time with my family, but all of them have ended up just being scams. That's so sad that people can't trust anything or anyone these days.

I am writer. This is good because I make my own schedule. Especially right now if I had a nine to five job I would have to take the whole week off because I have been doing nothing but sleeping and they don't know what is wrong with me. At least with writing I can do it in between my nap cycle. This is good because if I had a regular job I would get fired for being sick so much.

Thank you so much for the response. I'm sorry to hear that you have been so sick lately. I hope that they can find out what's causing this and help make it better. I envy you though for having the ability to make your own schedule. That has been a goal of mine ever since I got pregnant with my son, who is now 4 years old. I do plan on achieving this goal within the next year, 2 at the most (can't wait!!) Good luck with your writing and with your health :)

I am married and am raising our 7 children (4 mine, 3 my husbands....all live with us full time and have no contact with their other biological parent). My husband is the primary money maker in the house and for the last couple of years since our children have gotten older (ages 12 to 17) I went back to work as a medical assistant for 37 hours a week. I got sick (that's a whole other discussion :) and had to quit this past February. I stayed at home until September and I just couldn't take it anymore, lol. I am not physically able to work much but I am currently working three days a week at a local cafe. It is perfect for me and I love it!! I work with the greatest people and the owners are fantastic to all their employees. It is a very laid back, pretty stress free atmosphere and I am so thankful to be able to work there, if just to get out if the house and be around other people. It is hard to live on just the one income ( I do love my job but I hardly make any money at all). I have been a member on her for quite a while but never really have been on the site since I joined about 2 years ago. I actually just discovered that you can make money one here so far have made a whopping $0.16, lol. From reading other posts I have figured out I'm not going to get rich doing this wither. :). I do read the questions and others answers and if I run into a question to answer like yours or if I can share an experience or knowledge I have gained to help someone else out then that's what is important to me. Any money made is just an added bonus. Thanks for your question and have a wonderful night.

Thank you so much for your response! I am very impressed with you and your family. Seven kids is quite the handful, especially to have full time. I know it's worth it though. My husband and I have 2 kids (1 is his, 1 is mine) that we have full time. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It really sounds like you're happy, despite not making much money. Happiness superseds money in my mind. Money can't buy happiness, that's just something you have to create on your own.

I get on myLot at any free moment of my work day too, as well as any spare moments of my evenings at home. This is just my third day on myLot, but my goal is to increase my earnings every day!

I have a job, and then I have a passion. To pay the bills, I work for a well-known retailer specializing in plus-sized clothing. I am a sales associate, which means that I greet customers, assist them in finding the sizes and styles that they require, fit them for bras, attend to their needs in the dressing room, and cashier when necessary. When I am not at work, I am a writer. I have been writing since I first gained the small muscle control necessary to manipulate a pencil. It isn't a skill so much as an instinct; it comes more naturally to me than breathing. I see the world in words. Show me the color blue, and I see the word, "BLUE", before I register the hue. When I listen to a lecture, I have to close my eyes and allow what is being said to roll over the darkness like the chalky scrawl of a lesson presented on a blackboard before I can take in what is being said. During high school, I would produce poetry and prose en masse, at the expense of my classwork. Today, I come up with a hundred ideas for stories and poems during the day, but have to wait until my commute-- I rely on public transportation-- to write anything down. I am currently unpublished, but by the end of National Novel Writing Month, I hope to change that! This is my first day on myLot, and I was honestly attracted by the idea of discussion and the opportunity to hone my on-the-fly writing skills than the idea of payment. The cash is just a perk.

Thank you so much for the response! I'm glad to hear from someone else that is also new to myLot. Hope you've enjoyed your time here so far, I know I have! It sounds like you have quite the passion for writing, and it shows too. I was told by an English teacher of mine in high school that I had a knack for writing, but I never pursuesd it. I mostly enjoyed writing poems, but haven't written anything new for years. I too though enjoyed the idea of being able to write freely on here, so who knows, maybe I'll start up again!
