as a new parent i think that is a great idea. in the event that there is an accident involving a school bus most incidents are minor. but in the even of a major accident those poor children have the potential to be thrown around and seriously injured if not killed. in any other vehicle on the road a seatbelt is required in most states.

In NJ they are required so it is moot, however, I do believe they should be belted in!

I would definitley say 'Yes'. Children are inclined to jump around a lot on buses and I am sure it would be better for the driver and the childre if they were all buckled safely in their seats. We recently had a very tragic accident in my country where a school bus toppled over and five young children were killed. They just might have survived if they had been wearing seat belts.

Yes i do because in any other vechicle they do. You would think they would but they don't. Not even Greyhound buses have seat belts. But this is a good question..

I can't understand how they can make it mandatory for anyone riding in a car, truck, or other vehicle to wear a seatbelt for safety and not provide seatbelts in our kids school buses. You would think that would have been the very first place they would have had people buckling up to begin with. I just don't get it! We try so hard to protect our kids, and make everything safer for them, but they can't buckle up for safety on the bus...makes no sense to me!

Yes, that should be required. Not only would it help prevent injury in the case of an accident, it would stop kids from running around and being a nuisance and a danger to the driver.

I definitely think that seatbelts should be required on school busses. If that bus has an accident and rolls, all of those kids will be thrown all over and there is nothing holding them in! It should be law. Everyone else on the road has to wear seatbelts, and it's for safety!
