Can money buy happiness?Different people have opinions. Some think yes, while others hold the opposite. It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and live a life comfort and security. However it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress. It is a common view that "money is the root of all evil". The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. In some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable. So ,money does not necessarily mean happiness. It all depends on how it is used .If we make honest and sensinle use of money ,it canbe a stepping-stone to happiness .Although money cannot buy happiness ,it can make happiness possibile if it is employed sensibly. How do you think this ?

The way I always look at this is that you need some money to buy food and room and board and clothing, etc. You will not be very happy if you are hungry and naked and exposed to the elements. But you also need friends and family in your life to make you happy too. Yes, you do need money so you can provide for yourself and your family but you need the people too. I can tell you at times we don't have any money until payday and on those days I am not very happy at all when I trying to figure out what I can cook for my family that will fill their stomachs so they don't feel hunger. It is a vicious cycle though.

no i believe strongly that money cannot buy happiness, for me happiness is a simple life with families and friends. whats with stack of paper beside you that you cannot talk to, share love with, have fun together. wahts is the fun of that? fine you can get food everyday, and all taht. but long term after you spend 80years old life, waht did you do? but i think that is only for if you have a lot of money. but little money spent on things can be really sweet, so it narrows down to wahts is too much?

I do not agree that money buys happiness. Happiness is a state of mind that can be achieved with an optimum amount of money, but not by itself. It also means that the other people and events around us are also in harmony for us to reach that state of mind.

Yes I agree with you. In our country there is a saying that when you don't have money love goes from the back door. There is a truth in this but there are people who have lots of money who doesn't know what happiness is. They only think of earning more and more and do not think of the happiness.

money can buy you things that make you happy but happiness as a feeling,no money can not buy that, that has to come from within.

I don't agree this. Say for example, you are having lot of money and you are a sugar patient. How will you be happy? Is it possible to eat whatever sweet you want? I don't believe money only gives happiness.

Hmm, tough one. I think money can pave the way to happiness, but happiness itself can't ever be bought.

nah, there is always something else that will earn you something else that will make you happy that money can't.. money is just a little piece of paper you carry around to spend so you can buy somethings that you will always want, but in the end, they will make you more greedy. Hate to admit it, but I'm kind of in that state, it's just that I want some more money for myself so I can buy some other things, and yeah in my own personal dictionary, that is plain greed, period. Hate to admit it, but I do find myself searching for more wants and not caring too much about needs. I cannot guarantee that I will find myself happiness if I just want more and more money and not care about anything else around, actually I know that I won't be happy, instead I'll just live in a misery. I'm sure that money will buy TEMPORARY happiness, but not PERMANENT happiness. Because what I'm trying to say is that if you have some enough money, and you want to buy something that you think it will make you happy. I'm sure that happiness won't last long, so I wouldn't consider that a happiness, if it ain't going to last long, and that happiness will turn to misery, and later on.. who knows..?

MOney is the root of all evils. I see a lot of rich people..they have everything but deep inside their heart they are not happy..Most reason to that is its hard for them to find someone that will love them truly for who they are and not their money..On the other hand, they are rich but they are alone because they dont have friends because of their love of money..they become selfish in everything..So in my own point of view, its better to lose money done losing your friends and your happiness..Have a nice day!

money can buy temporary happiness...material happiness but money cant buy true happiness. as true happiness is not material. i think in order to have true happiness you have to have that perfect person..i think true happiness is having a family..a career. and knowing you have lived a good life.

No I dont think so and that has been proven time and time again. Some of the richset people are the unhappiest people in the world. For some the very presence of money creates fake friends and "haters",consequently you have a constant mistrust of the persons around you. This makes your life unbearable. Some people live in the constant fear of being robbed and so they cant sleep at nights.Other stay up trying to figur eout how to make more money. I think money buys you comfort so that you may be able to enjoy the other things in life that are important like companionship. These are the things that really matter like family and the things that can make you happy ,your ability to share the money with someone else .Seeing the joy that is on their face as you use your money to do things for them. There are persons who have no money but they are happy and I guess this brings ou an important point and that is happiness is about satisfaction .Whatever makes you satisfied will make you happy.Consequently youcan be happy if you are satisfied with a little and youcan be happy if you are satisfied with a lot.You coudl be living under a bridge but you are happy because that may be what you have always wanted.

That is true to a certain extent. Money can buy things that make you happy for awhile. Things that are exciting and amazing, but ultimately those things either go away or they get old and you become used to them. The nature of things is that they are temporary. The only thing that is permanent in your life that will always be there is you. In the beginning and end you are there for yourself. If you are not comfortable and happy with yourself then you can never be truly happy. The Porsche will break down and your house will catch fire. Your watch will stop ticking and your nice clothes will no longer fit you properly. Be truly happy with yourself and you won't need "things" to make you happy!

....sometimes...money...can..buy...love! but, never happiness...Happiness is a description of an undescribable good feeling. ....And money is so farway in buying that. Though a person may own a bunch sacks of money. He wont still be happy. ....A person may lack of good thing in this world but if he had found contentment in what he has, would be far more better than the person who alsmost own the world. Happiness is only found in love, contentment, peace and in GOD!

I believe that money it is important to life and if you dont have money then your life would be a really mess, because everyday people need to spend it in so many things like food, clothes, house, school, travel, etc. But honestly I dont think they money can buy happines, I know the money helps a lot but everything which is material can't buy feelings and also when people start to have money usually they always want more and more so that is why there is corruption in the whole world, yes definately money can give you happiness but only for a while as people start to feel they are powerfull but at the end money just brings with it problems, I personally think that you are complete happy when you are with your family and having just a normal life with the enough money to live.

Having a great deal of money may temporarily make a person feel satisfied. However money will not provide permanent happiness. It is easy to realize this when you see so many rich and famous people involved in self-destructive lifestyles. They are just doing whatever it take to make them feel happy for the moment. When all the fame and glory wears off they turn to other things. When all is said and done only true friendship and love can make a person truly HAPPY.

Money can buy all luxurious thing but not the happiness. An orphan can find happiness in his parents but money cannot buy. A tired person finds happiness to get rest that money cannot buy. money can buy food but not the hunger. money can buy jewels but not peace of mind. money can buy idea but not the creativity money can buy a body but not the soul. money can buy a man but not his true love its ur view hoiw much u give priority to money. if u have npo debts to pay and earning enough to live a life with stomach full.then that is the happiness not all the luxurious things that u can buy with money.

No money cannot buy happiness but lack of it definitely gives us miserable life. In pursuit of wealth, man has lost sight of the fact that money is merely a means to an end. Men has failed to understand the nature, meaning and purpose of wealth. He is only interested in one aim - just to have more money. As a result, he ends up frustrated and confused because is is no nearer to true happiness than when he was poor. This is the reason why some rich men are unhappy, restless and miserable because they fail to understand that money might be able to buy them sensual and mundane pleasures but not happiness.

Money can really make people happy, but it can only provide us temporary happiness. With money we can buy a lot of things, our needs and want but there is the underlying factor of impermanent happiness, when they perish, we still long for more to retain or bring back the happiness. Money can never give us the genuine and truest sense of happiness.

While having money does ease the stress and burden of worrying about money, it can also serve as a distraction. We just happen to have been born into a world that places a great emphasis on money so we have no choice but to sumbit the expectations of society and embrace money in order to survive in society. But it can distract from the things in life that truly have meaning to us. Family, friends and love are all far more important than money. There is no question in my mind that I would rather have my 2-year-old son than a billion dollars. At the end of the day, as they say, you can't take it with you.
