unresolved tab...what does this mean?

i have all these discussions in the unresolved tab and was wondering if anyone could tell me why.is it because there are some responses that i haven't answered?or maybe because i haven't rated them?

They are discussions to which you haven't awarded a Best Response. We are supposed to do this but I have to confess that I sometimes find it difficult. The person to whom you award a Best Response does, I believe, get a little extra.

Unresolved responses mean you have not choosen the best response for that discussion. I try and gi through mine every couple of days to at least once a week. So, i do not get way behind.
