My Dog Made It Through The Night!

I just got back from the Animal Hospital and my Dog made it through the night! Woo Hoo He was so glad to see a familiar face his morning and I think he even apologized for the hand! LOL For those of you following this story thanks for all of your concern. For those of you wondering what in the world I am talking about my dog got shot yesterday by a hunter. The vet says that his chances of making it now are pretty good. They are letting the sedation wear off throughout today and watching him to make sure he doesn't pull anything lose. They got the bullet and there were no major organs damaged so it's looking good for him. He lost so much blood that he is very weak . They said they would try to feed him a little this evening if he was moving around ok. If he is even remotely well "a little bit" wont cut it with him! LOL I didn't bother telling them that! I still haven't bothered addressing the idiot that shot him but it's coming. At least I am in alot better frame of mind now! LOL

I'm glad to hear that your dog is doing better and made it through the night alright. Where did he get shot, the chest area or the stomach area or? I hope that he makes a speedy recovery and that your hand gets better too. That is just so much to go through. You really should make that person that shot him pay for all of your expenses.

I don't think I calmed down for days after my incident...& that was just for a cat ( ok, I don't really care for cats but he's a family member ). Had it been one of the dogs I'd have gone nuts!!!! Make sure your ammo is better than a 22. We don't want to simply wound him!Sorry I see someone hurting a sled dog & I picture my own Voden in the situation & I get pissed.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I am glad to hear that he is doing better now. I hope that he will continue to recover. As for the hunter I think that this is a horrible thing that he did. Hunters need to pay better attention as to what they are shooting.

They need to learn the difference in dogs and deer. I think he missed hunting 101 class! Thanks for responding

I am so glad! I wish I could tell you all the things I thought of last night to do to that hunter. But then I would probably be barred from this site, so I guess I can't. Rest assured they had less to do with getting mad, and more to do with getting even....

I am really glad your dog is okay. One time my dog had to go to the hospital. WHen he was a puppy he had some kind of infection and he had to stay in the hospital for over a week. I really missed him when he wasn't at home and he looked so weak and pathetic in the hospital it was heartbreaking. I hope your dog feels better soon and let me know what you decide to do about the hunter.
