One of my favourite pastimes is watching soccer. My wife always complains that she cannot watch her favourite programme when there is my favourite team on television. So she always opts out to go to bed early on football nights. What do you do when your spouse watches football or another sport on TV/? © ronaldinu 2008

We only have one t.v. in the house right now. When my husband is watching sports, or playing a video game, I am either on the computer, reading a book, working on a project, or cleaning the house. We have a pretty decent system though. The show I like to watch is on one or two days a week, and neither day is the same day as his UFC shows. We watch my show on the day or two it is on, and he watches his, without me complainng when it is on. I have plenty of things to do that do not involve the television, so the only time I even watch it anymore is when my show is on. The rest of the time, he and the kids have reign over it.

usually, i watch it with him. i grew uo watching football, go cowboys! lol and since we've been together the past 3 1/2 years he got me into hockey, go flyers! if i happen to not be in the mood or he's watching a team i don't really care about, then i usually sit on the couch with my laptop, or i sit at the table and scrapbook, or read. i might opt to go to bed before him if it's a late game.

I think the best solution would be to have 2 TV sets. Anyway she sometimes watches some sports like skating or skiing or snooker and depending on the mood and the length of time she wants to watch it i will either let her watch and do something else instead or convince her to stop or just let her watch for a while and then ask her to stop.

Hi ronaldinu, We have another TV in our bedroom so whatever my husband wants to watch and I don't, he normally goes there to watch the programme, so I just stay in the living ans watch whatever I want. We have no problems. Tamara

My husband is not into sports so this I don't have to worry about. I wouldn't anyway. I have a few tvs in the home. He loves watching discover and history channels. I do too, but when I've seen what he's watching already a time or two, I will go to another tv and watch it if that's what I wish to do. But mostly I'm on the computer while he's watching tv. I'm here or checking my email, or playing a game I have downloaded so I can at least be in the same area as him since he's not home much.

I dun face such a problem yet because i'm not married.. lol =D Though i'm very much into sports, but i'm not really interested in watching them, so it wont be a problem for me.. lol =D The problem i faced is with my parents.. lol =D Because there's only cable tv programme in the hall, and thus we can only watch one channel at a time.. So whenever my mom is watching, i will have to watch the same programme as her even though i dun like it at all.. lol

Hi Ronaldinu, fortunately we have 2 TVs, so it's okay that he wants to watch his favorite games, which is badminton. I don't mind the football matches, as I'm a fan myself!

Whenever my spouse is watching something I'm not interested in, I occupy myself with what interests me. I might read, or open Photoshop for a while, play a game, or yes... even sleep! I also make sure though, that my honey and I do have common interests of stuff to watch on tv. And he makes sure to watch stuff with me, even if it doesn't interest him. It's a two way street. And sometimes, every once in a while, that tv program he LOVES to watch, that I can't stand, he'll forego watching. But then, many times, I just cuddle up with him for a while anyway while he's watching.

It is the other way around in our house. I am used to sitting on the computer and mylotting and my wife gets fed up of seeing all the programs on TV and after a while she gets bored and wants me to quit the computer and talk to her. I usually do not sit on the computer after 10 PM. I usually go along with what my wife wants to watch. I am not that crazy about watching games. I would rather be playing the game than watching it.
