Joe Biden used to be a republican? Where did you get that tidbit of information? And more importantly, why would it matter?

That's what I was going to say! How does one go from being the "third most liberal Senator" to a former Republican...lol? Annie

The man hasn't even taken office yet - he does not yet have the authority to actually "do" anything. Would you care to provide your sources for the information regarding Biden's former Republican status?

Give him time - he isn't even in office yet. Lets see what he does after Jan then we might have cause for complaint. Also Democrat or Republican I think it is up to him to choose who he thinks will do the best job. I didn't vote for him but I am willing to bide my time and see what he does.

Part of his promise was non-partisanship. This would mean that his cabinet should include Dems, Repubs, Independents ... whoever is best for the jobs at hand. I personally would be very disappointed if he did not have a good mix from all parties in his cabinet and in other positions of authority and power. Biden has never to my knowledge been a Republican, name your source on that one. Finally President Elect has no authority to keep any promise at this point, he is not the president as yet. He is a work in progress, in transition. I would not be quick to judge him at this stage of the game.

Hey nobamaman, do not be so critical, he have not taken over yet. I too do not think he would be able to do it, however he should be given the chance before we kill off his credits. Let him take office and then perhaps 1 to 2 years before we can see if his works or not.

Hey I do not know, bush managed to hang on for 8 years, and I really do not see how much badly Obama could do worst in terms of economy. However, bush did pretty well in foreign relationship other than the Iraq war. relationship with China, Pakistan, India Russia was at the best. So no all things are bad - just we trend to look at all the bad things, not look at the things they have done well.

I think he won't be sworn into office for another month and a half! I think, judging my this post, he'll enjoy the shortest "honeymoon" period of any President in history. The poor guy can't win; the right is complaining he hasn't chosen enough Republicans and some on the left feel he's moved to the right himself with his appointments. I think his cabinet and staff so far looks a lot like America and we should give Obama and his Administration a chance to at least take office! Please tell us since many of us are dying to know - where DID you get the erroneous information that V.P. Elect Biden used to be a Republican? I live about an hour from where he was born and raised and have followed his entire career so I can assure you that's NOT true! Annie

One thing we all have to remember is that Obama is a POLITICIAN...and the first job requirement of being a politician is that you have to be able to look people in the eyes and LIE to them. I don't think he is going to do anything good for our country anyway. I also like the fact that he seems to be PRO WAR now as well. Maybe we will get lucky, and he will turn out to be PRO LIFE as well, but I wouldn't count on it...LOL

Obama is in a perfect position. He can do no wrong. If any one can prove he has done any thing wrong or has not been born in the US the war cry will go up "He is being prosecuted because he's black". I really don't know why he ran. By making Hillary Secretary of State and appointing all of the Clinton people to such important jobs he seems to be saying I don't know what to to do. I did not vote for him. Four years from now Hillary will be in the best position to run for the office again and this time she will make. God Help us.

sorry.i like Obama. and i think he will become a very great president of America. yes,he hired some republican.but i think this is a wise action.because the important thing is unity now. unity is strength.unity can defeat the economic crisis.and this is his "change"thought in the election i think.
